Attn: Transportation Commission
Dear Members of the Transportation Commission,
I am writing to you to alert you to a dangerous intersection and to request stop signs.
The street of concern is Main Bayview Road -specifically where it has a sharp turn at the corner
of Baywater Ave- making visibility very limited, creating a dangerous intersection. As you know,
Main Bayview Road is a double yellow line road, is heavily trafficked and leads to a great
amount of residences. Cars and larger trucks frequent this road.
I noticed that there are 2 stop signs at Cedar Drive and Main Bayview and a sign that says
`Dangerous Intersection'. Something like that would be ideal to avoid dangerous accidents here
as well.
I have attached a map and photos to detail the locations.
The areas of concern are:
1: Baywater and Main Bayview Road
Specifically, turning left from Baywater to Main Bayview Road
As you head east on Baywater, and are sitting at the Yield sign, waiting to make a left, the
visibility is minimal. A driver trying to make that left can only see that a car is coming when they
are already dangerously close. This is due to the very sharp corner.
2: Baywater and Main Bayview Road
Heading north, turning left from Main Bayview onto Baywater
As a driver heads north on Main Bayview to turn left onto Baywater, there is very little visibility of
oncoming traffic. It's very hard to see if this is a safe time to make a left turn. You only can see a
car coming for a few seconds. Because Main Bayview has an extreme sharp turn right there,
the visibility is unsafe.
3: Speed bump on Nokomis
Cars including Landscaping trucks and other service vehicles speed down Nakomis at all times
of the day. There are tons of kids in the area. Could we have a speed bump installed?

4:Mirror on ue
Would it be passible to ae a mirror at the corner or Nakomis Road and Baywater near the fire
station? For cars exiting or entering Nokomis, it's hard to see cars on Baywater because it's a
slight hill. This could be placed on the fire department property.
I am attaching a google map of the intersection as well as images that show how little visibility
you have when waiting to make those turns.
Thank you for your consideration.
