To satisfy this condition, it was necessary to increase the overall length of the replacement catwalk to 116 feet, including the terminal 12-foot inclined sections of catwalk at each end, in lieu of the originally proposed 95 feet. We are therefore writing to request that the Town Wetlands Permit be administratively amended to authorize the 116-foot length, as depicted on the project plan prepared by En-Consultants, last dated September 10, 2024,three (3) copies of which are enclosed with the application for amendment. Statement of the effect, if any, on the wetlands and tidal waters of the town that may result by reason of such proposed operations (use attachments if appropriate): The project proposes to replace and maintain the catwalk,or"foot bridge,"that was originally permitted in 1986(Town Wetlands Permit No.323)to provide access across Gull Pond Inlet, which is located between the applicant's two properties and physically separates their home from Gardiners Bay.The catwalk would be extended by 12 feet at each end to allow for an increased elevation of the catwalk above tidal wetlands, and it would be constructed with light-penetrating open-grate decking. By thus updating the design to enhance and protect the viability of the tidal wetland vegetation beneath and adjcent to the catwalk, the project would maintain but improve upon the existing site conditions without causing significant adverse impacts on the adjacent tidal wetlands or waters of Gull Pond Inlet. a 617.20 Appendix B Short Environmental Assessment Form Instructions for Completing Part I-Project Information. The applicant or project sponsor is responsible for the completion of Part 1.
