I'm following up on a couple fronts. First, l just wanted to share that the Labor Day weekend continued the unfortunate trend of increasingly loud concerts at Stzoog`s TYutcr Club. It's been rare lately that the music they're playing adheres to the limits set by the town code. The performers oo Friday, Saturday and Monday of Labor Day weekend each regularly exceeded the 65 decibel threshold, and on a number of occasions registered above 70 decibels at our back door. Sound u1 this level can't hc kept u1 bay hy double-paned windows and doors, and it renders our yard and pool unusable. I believe our next-door neighbor, Audrey Watson, reached out to at least a couple of you about this as well. I've included links tnuhandful of recordings below tndemonstrate just how disruptive itis. l also wanted tn send along ulink tn the New York Times article l referenced u1 the board meeting about the noise issues surrounding the concerts held at the Forest Hills Tennis Stadium. l cited Forest Hills for couple reasons. First, the concert operators there have u1least tried tn mitigate the sound, spending $|.5 million oo measures to contain it. Secondly, l shared it to show that cvco u venue whose only use at this point is as u concert venue is holding fewer than 40 events a year, which is less than half of what the total will be for 1 Strong's Water Club, which is ostensibly a marina and restaurant first. The same is true for the Jones Beach Theater, which scheduled fewer than 30 concerts this summer. Lastly, thank you for supporting the Sanitary Flow credit transfer application that will enable the redevelopment of the old Capital One Bank building on Love Lane. It's a good project that's been a long time coming. I'm in South Carolina this week looking after my dad, so I won't be able to attend this afternoon's meeting, but hope to be able to make it to the next one. Their calendar showed oo Wednesday night events usof last week. So we're now uptn 18 hours u week of live music, which is u doubling of the hours from lustycur—this after Council Member Doherty met with Strong's to discuss the situation last summer. That's anything but someone trying to be u good neighbor. lu addition, the music oo several occasions over the past couple of weeks has been us loud us it's ever been, with sound levels regularly exceeding 65 decibels u1 our back door. They've made oo attempt u1all to mitigate the impact on neighbors. l`vc included some links hclovv to recent video recordings with u decibel meter, and for context, l`vc had to turn the volume up to about 90% on my computer to replicate the actual decibel readings u1 the time ofrecording. Music at the level if s being played penetrates our double-paned windows, and 1 I've included video of the decibel levels inside our home with and without the presence of live music to demonstrate that. Strong's Water Club has effectively become a live concert venue that happens to have boat slips and a restaurant. They have more than three times as many concerts planned this summer than the Jones Beach Theater does, and they haven't had to seek a single permit. We have dutifully submitted code complaints for the past few years, as we've been asked to do, and as you well know, I've come to the Board many times to ask for help. We and our neighbors began raising concerns at least nine years ago. I'm really at a loss as to what to do at this point, but this is an untenable situation that imposes a huge external cost on us and our neighbors. If you experienced it for yourselves, I have to believe you would agree that it deprives us of the enjoyment of our property, which I believe is a completely reasonable expectation outlined in the town's code.
