East Marion Fire District Door Repair Project Specifications
9245 Main Road, East Marion NY 11939

1. Repair by replacing 6 existing exterior'non fire rated doors of metal and wood type in two
buildings which includes 5 single entry,doors, and.1 set of double entry doors in kind size.
2. East Marion Fire District assumes no liability on dimensions noted in specifications. It is
required that all Contractors arrange,a site visit to verify door swings, doors types, door
locks, door hardware, door*saddles; door trim, door dimensions, access conditions and
anything else that will change scopel listed. Contractor has the sole obligation and risk for
choosing properly fitting doors.
3. All measurement and details noted are approximate and must be field verified by contractor
prior to ordering any door materials.'
4. Any changes from specifications based on field visits must be detailed in bid. All
dimensions noted in this document will,be the responsibility of the contractor to verify.
Minimum Door type specification:
1. Non-fire Rated Exterior Solid Fiberglass Doors&Frames with smooth finish. Fiberglass
commercial exterior door must be totally sealed, solid core construction and resistant to a
broad range of elements such as moisture, chemicals, gases, salt and micro-organisms.
Corrosion resistant, lightweight with heavy duty performance. The cavities between the .
fiberglass reinforced sub-frame must be filled completely. The skins of the door
application must be seamless fiberglass reinforced face sheet, smooth finish design. The
face sheet will be gel-coated. Hingis must be stainless steel. Include all required weather
stripping.
2. The Doors must be lightweight,extremely high corrosion-resistant,factory prefinished and
door assembly carries a lifetime warranty. It is important to note that the solid commercial
fiberglass door & frame products contain no ferrous metal or wood components in their
construction that could lead to premature failure.
3. All glass lites must be insulated safety glass and be a minimum 6"x 24" insert size unless
noted in door details below.
4. All doors must include a low profile water tight Aluminum threshold saddle. .
5. All lock sets and hardware must match existing and be keyed alike. See noted door locks
in door details below.
6. All Outside exterior of the doors must have rot proof installed brick molding. Install
molding and fill all holes. Caulk around all trim wipe clean with sponge.
7. All interior wall damage from door installation patch walls as required fill all holes in walls,
sand for paint and paint two coats to match existing finish.

8. All doors fill all holes in trim,jambs, sand for paint then paint interior and exterior of all
doors and trim with two (2) coats of semi-gloss finish white.
9. All Doors remove interior and exterior molding from door. Remove door with entire door
jamb.
10. All Doors inspect and re-secure framing around door.
11. All Doors inspect header and structural framing is sound, free from rot or other defect,
replace header if required in kind and repair wall damage to match existing in kind. Any
door headers that required replacement due to rot or other.
12. All Doors flash all sides with Tyvek house wrap.
13. All Doors interior supply and install extension jambs as needed. Supply and install new
square-stock as finish trim.
14. Disposal of all garbage, used materials, demolition materials or contractor left over
supplies off site daily at no cost to EMFD.
15. All Door locks must be keyed alike to match existing EMFD lock sets.
16. All Doors the Door Contractor is responsible for the coordination of.Farb security lock
installation in new door and of jamb with the East Marion District Farb security lock
contractor. All doors must secure in locked position when installed.
Door Details:
1. Rear Building on the West side RH out swing 36"x80"door with glass lite and jamb(under exterior
2"d floor staircase):
A. Build custom door pan for proper drainage.
B. Supply and install new fiberglass smooth finish flush pre hung unit by applying clear
silicone to base saddle to keep water from entering. Shim all sides and secure with
exterior grade screws. Fill all holes and sand foupaint.
C. Door-must include one (1) Safety Glass Light minimum on latch side.
D. On top side and two lower sections around door remove pine, supply and install with
azek board.
E. Supply and install a new panic bar with key entry to match existing EMFD keyed lock
and be compatible with EM Electronic Farb System.
F. Remove Electronic Farb door lock hardware and reinstall after new door. If required
coordinate with EMFD Farb Installer.

2. Main Building on East side L/H swing�out 361lx80"with glass lite and jamb(Kitchen
Entrance)
A. Build custom door pan for proper drainage.
B. This door is on top of concrete. Chisel out some concrete to make base level. Re-mortar
as needed to patch in kind.
C. Door must include one (1) Safety Glass Light on latch side..
D. Supply and install new fiberglass smooth finish flush pre hung unit by applying clear
silicone to base saddle to keep water from entering. Shim all sides and secure with
exterior grade.screws.
E. This door will require 5/4 azek square stock on outside. Install molding and fill all holes.
Caulk around all trim wipe clean with sponge.
F. Supply and install a new panic bar with;key entry to match existing lock and be
compatible with EM Electronic Farb System.
G. Remove Electronic Farb door lock hardware and reinstall after new door. If required
coordinate with EMFD Farb Installer.
3. Main Building double-door West side.Include Glass to match existing doors 2 panel or 4
panel. Pre- hung to match as close as possible 61x7' (Double Doors in Meeting Room).
Submit.door panel type prior to ordering for EMFD approval.
A. Door sill on top of concrete. Silicone only.
B. Supply and install new fiberglass doublie door pre hung units by applying clear silicone to
base saddle to keep water from entering. Shim all sides and secure with exterior grade
screws. Fill all holes and sand for paint:
C. Supply and install on Doors crash bars and locking from inside right side door main
operation.
D.. Supply and install new emergency push bar on doors with cylinder keyed to existing
EMFD Key set:
4: Main Building West hall door 42"x80" LH outswing with glass lite and jamb
(Commissioners Hall).
A. Build custom door panTor proper drainage.
B. Door must include one(1) Safety Glass on latch side.
C. Supply and install new fiberglass smooth finish flush pre hung units by applying clear
silicone to base saddle to keep water from entering. Shim all sides and secure with
exterior grade screws. Fill all holes and sand for paint.
D. Around entire door supply and install 5/4 azek. Add azek kick plate to bottom.
E. Supply and install a new panic bar with key entry to match existing EMFD Key set and-
be compatible with EM Electronic Farb System.
F. Remove Electronic Farb door lock hardware and reinstall after new door. If required
coordinate with EMFD Farb Installer.

5. Main Building West door,36"xT-0" pre-hung with glass lite and jamb,R/H outswing
(Rescue Room) i
A. Build custom door pan for proper drainage.
B. .Door must include one(1) Safety Glass Lite on latch side. .
C. Supply and install new fiberglass smooth finish flush pre hung unit by applying clear
silicone to base saddle to keep water from entering. Shim all sides and secure with
exterior grade screws. Fill all holes and sand for paint.
D. On inside supply and install extension jambs as needed. Supply and install new square
matching finish trim.
E. Around entire outside door supply and install 5/4 azek. Add azek kick plate to bottom.
F. Supply and install new emergency push;bar on doors with cylinder keyed to existing
EMFD Key set.
6. Main Building Rear North door steel only, 441lx7' pre-hung with glass lite and jamb .
L/H outswing(Meeting Room Rear)
A. This door is on top of concrete. Chisel out concrete to make base level. Re-mortar as.
needed.
B. Door must include one (1) Safety G1ass;Light on latch side above door handle.
C. Supply and install new steel knock down concrete mounting door. Door to have glass.
D. Supply and install new emergency push bar on doors with cylinder keyed to existing
EMFD Key set.
