Dear Mr. Grace:
This letter is a follow up to your email received on February 14, 2024, along with a
photograph. The Board of Trustees reviewed your request to remove the one (1) tree
that is located on your property and is within 100' of the wetlands. This tree was
reviewed and seen by Trustee Eric Sepenoski on March 10, 2024.
The Board of Trustees determined that the one (1) tree that is located near your
dwelling may be removed at this time. The Board of Trustees would like one new native
hardwood tree planted anywhere on your property to mitigate the loss of this tree. No
permit will be required in order to perform this work.
Any other activity within 100' of the wetland boundary requires a permit from this office.
This is not a determination from any other agency.

We are requesting removal of the attached tree from our property at 190 Willow Terrace Lane, Orient,NY. We
are giving permission for anyone from the town of Southold to walk on the property for inspection
purposes. We are requesting removal of the tree because it is too close to the home and poses a risk of damage
