RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town of Southold hereby authorizes
and directs Supervisor Thomas Wickham to execute a lease agreement
between the Southold Methodist Church and the Town of Southold for the
church parking field behind the church building on the south side of Route
25, Southold, for a term of ten (10) years, commencing on January 1, 1994
and ending December 31, 2003, for a total rent of $10.00, to be paid upon
execution of the lease; all in accordance with the approval of the Town Attorney.

THIS AGREEMENT, made this 22nd day of March, 199~. between the
SOUTHDED METHODIST CHURCH. a religious corporation of Southold. Suffolk
County, New York hereinafter referred to as "CHURCH", and the TOWN OF
SOUTHOLD, a municipal corporation of the State of New York, having an
office at 53095 Main Road, Southold, Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New
York hereinafter referred to as "TOWN", subject to the following terms:
1. Leased Premises. Church has agreed to lease to Town the following
premises for parking field purposes:
ALL that tract or parcel of land situate, lying and being
at Southold, County of Suffolk and State of New York,
bounded and described as follows: Northerly by lands of
Christopher J. Grattan and Estate of George C. Terry and
the Southold Methodist Church; Easterly by the several
lands of William Hagen, William Smith and Spencer W. Petty,
Sr.; South by land of John Scott and Westerly by land of
Phebe Bridge. Together with a right of way for passage
on foot and with vehicles over other land of the Landlord
to Main Street.
With the privileges and appurtenance for and during the term of TEN (10)
years from the 1st day of January, 199~ which term will end the 31st day of
December, 2003.
2. Rent. Town covenants that it will pay Church for the use of said
premises, the total rent of TEN and no/100 ............. Dollars ($10.00), to
be paid in ful upon the execution thereof.
3. Automatic Extension. This lease shall be automatically extended for
successive ten year terms, upon the same terms and conditions as herein
provided, unless either party hereto gives written notice to the other party
not tess than sixty (60) days prior to the expiration of the then existing
term that the term of this lease shall not be so extended.
· . Maintenance. It is further understood that Town agrees that it will
maintain the said parking space in proper order without damage to other
property of Church and will suitably regulate the~ use thereof; that it will
prohibit parking in the driveway between Main Street and said parking space,
erecting any signs which may be necessary for that purpose without expense
to the Church.
5. Taxes. Church agrees to pay all taxes to be assessed on said
premises during said term.
6. Insurance. Town covenants and agrees that it will include the
demised premises under its blanket liability insurance policy.
7. Surrender of Premises. At the expiration of said 'term Town shall
surrender said premises to Church in as good a condition as now, necessary
wear and damage by the elements excepted.

to me known, who being by me duly sworn, did depose and say that he
resides at Main Road, Cutchogue, New York; that he is the Supervisor of the
Town of Southold, the municipal corporation described in and which executed
the foregoing instrument; that he knows the seal of said Town; that the seal
was so affixed by order of the Town Board of the Town of Southold and that
he signed his name thereto by like order.
