The inspection covered the framing support for the new header in the first floor ceiling installed as part of the alteration to the existing house. The area inspected included the basement and first floor. The inspection covered the wood column in the basement supporting the new header load path. The inspection results are: Items inspected included lumber type/grade,lumber size, spacing, connection, and integration with the existing structure. The new wood column replaces the steel column that was shown on the approved plans. The wood column is an adequate support for this framing system. This framing work modifies the approved plans and is in compliance with the applicable sections of the IRC,NYS and Southold Town Building Codes. Result—Based upon inspection of this project and to the best of my knowledge,belief and professional judgment, construction as installed complies with the applicable code of the IRC,NYS and Southold Town Building Codes.
