Mattituck Park District held on January 8,2004, at the Mattituck Fire House in a
classroom on the second floor,Pike Street,Mattituck,New York,with Commissioner
Jerome Zuhoski and Tom McCaffery present,together with John Cushman,Treasurer,
Madeline Haas, Secretary, Gail Faircloth, Gate Guard Attendant,and Jim Cox, Sr.,Crew
Chief Leader. Gerard Goehringer to enter the meeting a little late.
Before the meeting could be legally opened, a Chairman of the Board of
Commissioners for the 2004 year must be appointed. On motion of Tom McCaffery,
seconded by Jerome Zuhoski and carried,the 2004 Chairman of the Board of
Commissioners will be Jerome Zuhoski.
Chairman Jerome Zuhoski officially opened the meeting at 7:10 p.m.
On motion of Tom McCaffery, seconded by Jerome Zuhoski and carried,North
Fork Bank and MBIA/CLASS were appointed banking institutions of the Mattituck Park
District for 2004.
On motion of Jerome Zuhoski, seconded by Tom McCaffery and carried,
Madeline Haas was appointed Secretary of the Board for the year 2004.
On motion of Jerome Zuhoski, seconded by Tom McCaffery and carried,the firm
of Wickham,Bressler,Gordon and Geasa was appointed legal counsel for the Board of
Commissioners for the year 2004.
On motion of Tom McCaffery, seconded by Jerome Zuhoski and carried, Suffolk
Times newspaper was appoint legal publication of the Board of Commissioners for 2004.
Chairman Zuhoski stated that salaries for 2004 will be discussed when Gerard
Goehringer enters the meeting.
Chairman Zuhoski stated that the various sites of the Park Disrict would be
overseen during the year by the following Commissioners. Gerard Goehringer—
Veterans Memorial Park,Baileys Beach and Breakwater. Tom McCaffery—The ball
fields at Yacht Cluband Bay Avenue, Jerome Zuhoski—The Lodge and Wolf Pit Lake.
On motion made by Jerome Zuhoski, seconded by Tom McCaffery and carried,
the minutes of the December 11,2003 meeting were approved as presented.
On motion made by Tom McCaffery, seconded by Jerome Zuhoski, and carried,
the following Treasurer's report was approved and the following bills ordered paid:

Gerard Goehringer entered the meeting
On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Jerome Zuhoski and carried,the
following modifications to the 2003 budget to be made:

Legal Counsel 2,000.00

Hourly Personnel $ 4,600.00
Gerard Goehringer asked Jim Cox to be sure to keep check on the lights at
Peconic Bay Boulevard and Aldrich Lane fields to be sure they are turned off.

Mr. Goehringer also reported that the present concession building will not be
moved or taken down before the coming summer or else we will not be able to open the
beach.
The snow plow has been gotten from R&W Truck Equipment Corp. The plow
was very low to the ground and the owner put a lift on the plow which lifts the front end
about three inches.
Gerard Goehringer bought ice melt to put on the right of way on Love Lane each
time it snows. Do not use calcium chloride. Only use Meier fluid in the plow. Do not
use anything else.
The retirement party for Walter Sabat is to be at Elbow East at 6:30 p.m. on
Friday,January 9P,
Commissioners discussed summer help and said they want someone to be used
strictly for cutting grass.
Mr. Goehringer reported that they are going to take the arch down at Veterans
Park.
Mr. Goehringer reported that they will be moving the new building at Veterans
Park to Aldrich Lane. Mr. Goehringer suggested to employ Warren Sandbach to draw up
plans for a 3-car garage with storage area for the purpose of placing it on Aldrich Lane
adjacent to the first base line of the ball field.
Kim Prokop came into the meeting to discuss the East Egg Hunt at Veterans Park
this year,to be held on Sunday,March 28, 2004. Last year the cost of the Easter Egg
Hunt was$1,720.00. On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Jerome Zuhoski and
carried,the Park District to donate $650.00 toward the cost of this year's party. Kim is
going to check with the Chamber of Commerce to see if they will help out.
Kim also said she has'/Z of the handicapped swing and will hold it until Jim Cox
is ready to put it up.
No further business to come before the meeting, on motion of Jerome Zuhoski,
seconded by Tom McCaffery and carried,the meeting was adjourned.
