COUNCILMAN WICKHAM: In April, 2004 the Town of Southold expects to recetve approximately
$164,300.00 in Federal Community, Development Block Grant Funds. These funds may be used, and
have been previously used for a variety of projects to be selected by local officials.
Eligible activities include:
Acquisition and demolition of blighted property
Housing rehabilitation
Elimination of physical barriers for the handicapped
Public facilities and improvements
Street Reconstruction
Code Enforcement
Public Water projects
Economic Development
Public Services (limited to 15%)
Town Residents are invite~ to attend this public hearing on Tuesday~ October 2L 2003~ 5:00 P. M.
O'clock in the evening at the Southold Town Hail, 53095 Ma'm Road, Southold, New York, to express
citizen views on local housing commumty development needs to be met with these funds.
I have a notice that it has appeared in the newspaper, and it has been out on the Town Clerk's bulletin
board.

JIM MCMAHON, EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT OFFICE: I have
received a couple of inquiries and at the next Town Board meeting, I will type up the list of requests
for t~ese funds and come up with our 2004 preliminary budget to subn/~t to you for your approval. So,
m two weeks I will have a budget prepared and I will list ail of the people who have inquired about
projects and whether they are fundable under the Community Development Program.
SUPERVISOR HORTON: Okay, very well then. Do we need to leave the public heating open?
Okay, thank you, Mr. McMahon. Comments from the Board? (no response) We will close the
hearing.

There is a notice that this has appeared as a legal in the Traveler-Watchman newspaper and it has
appeared on the Town Clerk's bulletin board, I have no further communications on this public hearing.
SUPERVISOR HORTON: Thank you, Councilman Wickham. Would anyone care to address the
Board on the Conununity Development Block Grant funding? I just want to note one exciting
addition to this, is the funding that will go towards enhancing what was Laurel School and now will
serve as a facility for the North Fork Early Learning Center, which is a much needed facility in this
Town. So, it is an exciting addition to this Community Development Block Grant funding. If there are
