MINUTES
Present were: Ray Blum, Reed Jarvis, Bill Edwards, John Sepenoski, Ray
Huntington, Fred Lee, Eric Keil, Melissa Spiro and Carrie Cullen.
Dowd parcel - 56-1-5.1 - This property is located next to the Neuer/Sutermiester
parcel. Melissa spoke to Mr. Dowd, he never told her that he had the property on
the market. An appraisal will be ordered on this. Melissa will invite Mr. Dowd to
our next meeting.
Ed Booth conservation easement - 50-2-15 & 51-2-8 -the Committee again
discussed this property. An appraisal will be ordered.
Aliano - 83-2-21 - Oregon Rd., Cutchogue. He is now ready to go on this piece,
which is located by the Beachcomber Motel. He is working with the Peconic
Land Trust. If an application comes in, an appraisal will be ordered.
Schmitt farm - 95-3-8.1 - Melissa showed the Committee two concept plans.
Randy Parsons is interested in purchasing this farm from the Schmitts. Melissa
will tell him that the Committee is not happy with the layout.
Rutkoski - 108-2-3 & 115-2-10 - Ray Huntington told the Committee that he
feels the County will do an appraisal on this.
Ray Huntington discussed the worksheet he made up on appraisers with the
Committee. He will send a letter to some of them and then follow up with a
phone call.
Ray Blum and Tim Caufield met with Mary Holland (110-1-7.1). She owns this
parcel with her brother. She said she spoke with brokers and was told she could
get $535,000.
Dorman - 17-2-17 - On Munn Lake - He is interested in gifting it to the Town.
It is unbuildable. Melissa will get the aerials for the next meeting.
At 8:45 p.m. the Committee went into executive session.
Carrie Cullen of the Nature Conservancy spoke to the Committee on the Pipes
Cove parcels:
Stackler - 45-5-7.1 - an offer was made and they will try to contact all of the
owners.
Posillico - he said he got an offer on the Kerwin Blvd. piece. Carrie told him that
we would still be interested in the two other parcels.
Carrie discussed the Rendel - 53-2-4 and Waldron 53-2-5 appraisals with the
Committee. A motion was made by Ray Huntington and seconded by Reed Jarvis
to have Carrie make an offer on these two parcels. All were in favor.
Dickerson - in negotiation - Melissa and Ray Blum will sit down with Betsey
Dickerson.
Simon - 86-1-10.9 - The Peconic Land Trust made the offer He is looking for
more money. Tim will report to the Committee at the next meeting.
Webber - 19-1-11.3 - Main Road, Orient. The Committee discussed the
appraisal. A motion was made by Reed Jarvis and seconded by Ray Blum to
make an offer to him. All were in favor.
For the next meeting a checklist for the management for the McGunnigle property
will be done.
The next regular meeting of the Committee is scheduled for Tuesday, September
17, 2002 at 7:30 p.m.
With no further business to be discussed, the meeting was adjourned at 10:00 p.m.
