HomeMy WebLinkAboutLP-07/23/2002LAND PRESERVATION COMMITTEE MEETING TUESDAY, JULY 23, 2002 AT 7:30 P.M. MINUTES Present were: Ray Blum, Ray Huntington, Bill Edwards, Reed Jarvis, Melissa Spiro, Tim Caufield, Tom Wickham, Gary Taylor, Charles Cuddy and Carrie Cullen and Brian from the Traveler Watchman.. The Land Preservation Committee went into executive session at 7:35 p.m. to discuss several appraisals. At 8:10 Charles Cuddy met with the Committee. He represents Keith Scott Morton (25-4-11.6), who is the owner of land between Orchard and King Streets in Orient. There are approximately 17.4 acres involved. He will be using 6 acres in 4 lots. Eleven plus acres would be preserved. It is a limited development. We have to wait for the appraisal that was ordered by owner. The appraisal is being done by Stype. At 8:45 the Committee again went into executive session to continue the review of appraisals. At 9:20 the Committee reviewed the Randy & Angela Shur application (94-3- 1.6). This property is located at 4050 Soundview Avenue, Mattituck. It is approximately 16.7 acres. An appraisal will be done on this. Melissa will contact Pat Given. Robert & Eleanor Webber - 19-1-11.3 - This appraisal was discussed by the Committee. The total acreage is 9.9 acres of which approximately 7 acres will be offered to the Town. The Committee will further review this appraisal at their next meeting, as they just received it tonight. Ray Huntington spoke to the Committee about small open space parcels. Since it was getting late, it was decided to continue this discussion at the next meeting. The next meeting of the Land Preservation Committee is scheduled for Tuesday, August 6, 2002 at 7:30 p.m. With no further business to be discussed, the meeting was adjourned at 10:00 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Joyce M.
