HomeMy WebLinkAboutLP-07/22/2003LAND PRESERVATION COMMITTEE MEETING TUESDAY, JULY 22, 2003 AT 7:30 P.M. MINUTES Present were: Ray Blum, Ray Huntington, John Sepenoski, Reed Jarvis, Bill Edwards, Fred Lee, Eric Keil, Melissa Spiro, Scott Hughes, Tom Wickham and Tim Caufield. Vitti - 59-3-27 - it is a sod farm right now. Approximately 15 acres are to be preserved. Melissa suggested having her come to a meeting so the Committee could discuss the application with her. A motion was made by Bill Edwards and seconded by Eric Keil to have an appraisal done on this for the purpose of purchasing the development rights. All were in favor. Wills - 106-1-7 -this property is located on Ruth Road in Mattituck. Bill Edwards has been in contact with Frank Wills. This would be a fee simple acquistion. A motion was made by Bill Edwards and seconded by John Sepenoski to have an appraisal done on this. All were in favor. May & others - 54-4-20 - they want to donate an easement on this property. It would not be for public access. A motion was made by Eric Keil and seconded by bill Edwards to recommend the acceptance of this donation. All were in favor. Cassid¥ - Tim Caufield discussed this with the Committee. He will follow through with Mrs. Cassidy. Grace's Place - 74-4-4.9 - a motion was made by Ray Blum and seconded by Reed Jarvis that we recommend going ahead with the purchase of development rights not fee purchase of the two lots. All were in favor. Melissa noted that Mrs. Hubbard had offered easements on 3 parcels in Southold. Melissa unsure of tax numbers. The Committee decided that if Mrs. Hubbard wants to donate the development rights, the Committee was in favor of accepting these. The closing of the Elak property will be very soon. Forestbrook - 79-1-7 - A motion was made by Eric Keil and seconded by John Sepenoski to increase our offer. All were in favor. Peconic Design - 63-3-18.1 - George Weiser is asking that we increase our offer. A motion was made by Ray Blum and seconded by Eric Keil to increase the offer. All were in favor. Duff¥ - 63-2-6 - the Committee discussed this property. A motion was made by Bill Edwards and seconded by Reed Jarvis to make an offer. There were 4 in favor and 3 against.. The motion was passed.
