Nancy will see if we can get a package deal on the appraisals. She will contact
Given and Schuster for prices.
On Thursday, April 4 at 10:30 a.m. the Nature Conservancy will hold a meeting
on the Peconic Estuary Program. Most members will attend.

Lettieri - 31-5-1.2 - nothing new - awaiting County's drafting of contract.
Ernst - 56-1-11.2 & 56-3-13.3 - has gone through the County.
Schreiber - 95-1-4 - Melissa received survey today. He is now ready to close
prior to subdivision approval. Closing will be soon.
McFeel¥ - 125-1-14 - Appraisal being reviewed by Committee. He wants $1.3
million for the property. This will be a joint purchase between the County and the
Town. Melissa will continue to negotiate this purchase.
LaColla - 56-4-19, 24 - we were going to meet their higher offer. Now they are
saying they got even a higher price. This has not been a good faith deal. Melissa
will have Mary Wilson call their attorney, Dan Mooney, to see what's up.
Tim Caufield spoke to the Committee on the L & R property on Elijah's Lane in
Mattituck. There are approximately 100 acres. They want to make this a
productive farm. The family is interested in exploring PDR's and conservation
options.
Yackser property - this would be an open space purchase. It would be a
partnership purchase. Tim will keep in touch with Melissa.
Tim spoke to the Committee about possibly having a seminar for landowners with
the Town, the Peconic Land Trust, the Farm Bureau and First Pioneer Credit.
Tim will try to set it up.
Melissa met with Joe Gergela and they discussed having a meeting with the
Committee, the County, the Farm Bureau and the appraisers to discuss possible
new methodology for appraisals.
Zazecki (Custer) property - Melissa handed out a copy of a letter received fron
Charles Cardona. Fred Lee spoke with Bob Van Bourgondien regarding
participation with the school. A meeting will be set up with the science teacher,
Mr. Baglivi. Fred will follow up on this.
The Committee discussed the property on Stillwater Avenue in Cutchogue. A
petition had been sent to the Town Board to preserve this parcel. The Committee
noted that his parcel has not been offered for preservation and the property
owners have been advancing in the Town's approval process. It therefore does
not seem to be an appropriate parcel for Town conservation.
Tom Wickham spoke to the Committee about the possible change of zone on
property west of Covey's farm and east of Coeur de Vigne. It is 5 lA acres. There
is a cover crop on it. The owner would like to build condominiums on it. He
plans 18 units.
The Minutes of the February 26, 2002 meeting were accepted as read.
The next meeting of the Land Preservation Committee is scheduled for Tuesday,
April 2, 2002.
With no further business to be conducted, the meeting was adjourned at 10:15
