HomeMy WebLinkAboutLP-02/05/2002LAND PRESERVATION COMMITTEE MEETING
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 5, 2002 AT 7:30 P.M.
MINUTES
Present were: Dick Ryan, Marty Sidor, Ray Blum, Bill Edwards, Reed Jarvis, Fred Lee,
Melissa Spiro and Tom Wickham.
Zazecki - 70-8-1 (Custer) - Fred Lee and Marty Sidor discussed the possibility of the
school doing a program using this property. It could be an exercise in running a small
business or a community project involving the children. Reed said the Farm Bureau has a
tape on modern farming that could be of interest. Fred said he spoke to Bob Van
Bourgondien of the Agricultural Advisory Committee and reviewed a few things with
Marty and if the school does not pick up on this, perhaps we could get some ideas from
the Agricultural Advisory Committee. Fred, Marty and Reed will review the
possibilities.
Blue Ribbon Commission - Melissa told the Committee there was a three part
presentation. She went through the Protected Lands Map, the Preservation Funding Data
and Zoning Data, the Protected Land Data and the Ag Inventory. Tim Caufield has
worked with Tom Wickam. He calculated the density in subdivisions over the past 6
years. The Committee was asked to review the data that is needed to focus on
preservation. Tom asked the Committee if after reviewing the date Melissa prepared, to
forward any suggestions to the Blue Ribbon Commission. Tom spoke to the Committee
about the agenda for the Commission for each month through June.
Cullinane - 19-1-1.2 - The Committee reviewed the revised appraisal. Reed and Ray
Blum will contact her. A motion was made by Dick Ryan and seconded by Bill Edwards
to make another offer to Mrs. Cullinane. All were in favor. Melissa will set up a meeting
at her office.
LaColla Property - 56-4-19,24 - This was discussed by the Committee in Executive
Session.
Letteri - 31-5-1.2 - Melissa will be attending the Town Board work session on February
12, 2002 to update the Town Board on the status.
Rutkoski - 108-2-3 & 115-2-10 - Offer was made, haven't heard back as yet.
Reed suggested that Melissa contact the Swiatocha family, as the deal they had fell
through and let them know that the Town would be interested in purchasing their
development rights.
Ray Blum suggested that Melissa send a letter to L & R Vineyards. He will follow up
with Dorset and Pfeil.
The next meeting of the Land Preservation Committee is scheduled for February 19, 2002
at 7:30 p.m.
With no further business to be conducted, the meeting was adjourned at 9:45 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
