HomeMy WebLinkAboutLP-12/17/2002LAND PRESERVATION COMMITTEE MEETING TUESDAY, DECEMBER 17, 2002 AT 7:30 P.M. MINUTES Present were: Ray Blum, Ray Huntington, John Sepenoski, Bill Edwards, Fred Lee, Melissa Spiro, Scott Hughes and Tom Wickham. Melissa reviewed the building envelope on the Henry Rutkoski parcel (108-2-3 & 115-2-10) The building envelope is 2 acres. Melissa also discussed the Elak property (115-8-3.3) The reserved area is approximately 4 acres. They will not be closing this year. Ray Blum suggested doing nothing further until we get a signed contract. Melissa will review the reserved area and the curb cut with the Planning Board. At 7:55 p.m. the Committee went into executive session to review appraisals. Simon - a letter will be written making the offer with a 30 day time limit. There is a 3 acre reserved area and 2 building lots. Aliano & McBride - Melissa discussed the survey with the Committee and reviewed the appraisals. A motion was made by Bill Edwards and seconded by John Sepenoski to make an offer. All were in favor for the purpose of preserving this land. Booth - 51-2-8 - There are approximately 22 acres. Melissa discussed this appraisal and concept plan with the Committee. A motion was made by Fred Lee and seconded by Bill Edwards to make an offer for the purpose of preserving this land. All were in favor. Ray Blum and Melissa will meet with Ed Booth. At 9:35 the Committee went out of executive session. Melissa reviewed the draft comments re: Proposed Rule Farmland Protection Program. Dickerson - the old cars and oil tank have to be removed. Adamowicz -the Town would purchase a 10 acre portion of this parcel. Melissa will keep working on this. Melissa has had an inquiry from A1 Krupski about a lot owned by Jim Grathwohl. This land is less than an acre on Williamsburg Road. The Board of Trustees disapproved his application to build a house. We will consider this if Mr. Grathwohl makes an application. Tom Wickham suggested that the Committee give the Town Board some direction on these unbuildable lots. The next meeting of the Committee is scheduled for Tuesday, January 14, 2003. The Ag Forum is on the 8th and 9th of January. Tom Wickham spoke to the Committee about Tim Caufield's year end report and their contract with the Town. Fred Lee will be reappointed to the Committee, as his term will be expiring at the end of this year.
