MONDAY, DECEMBER 2, 2002 AT 7:30 P.M.
MINUTES
Present were: Ray Blulm, Ray Huntington, John Sepenoski, Bill Edwards, Erik
Keil, Melissa Spiro, Tom Wickham, Tim Caufield, and Alan Connell.
Melissa discussed the Robert Rowehl application with the Committee. He is
offering approximately 25 acres for preservation. A motion was made by Ray
Blum and seconded by Ray Huntington to have an appraisal done on this. All
were in favor.
Tim Caufield spoke to the Committee about completed projects, projects in
contract, pending offers and serious applications for this year. There are 1100
acres involved. The Peconic Land Trust will speak to the Town Board at the
December 17, 2002 Town Board meeting about what they have been doing this
past year. They will also discuss their contract with the Town Board.
Tim said the Nielsen, Fishers Island project (5-1-8) will close this year.
Elak (115-8-3.3) Tim met with John Elak this morning. They are looking to close
next year.
Simon - not going anywhere. The Committee discussed a time limit on the offer.
Ray Blum, Melissa and Tim will meet and go over the two appraisals and bring
the information to the next meeting.
At 8:45 p.m. the Committee went into executive session.
The Committee discussed the McBride 83-2-17.1 and Aliano 83-2-16 appraisals
and will continue to further discuss them.
Alan Connell spoke to the Committee about a conservation monitoring plan. This
plan would be working with the landowner to identify the resource problems and
alternative suggestions to control these problems.
The next meeting of the Land Preservation Committee is scheduled for Tuesday,
December 17, 2002.
With no further business to be discussed, the meeting was adjourned at 10:15 p.m.
