HomeMy WebLinkAboutLP-10/29/2002LAND PRESERVATION COMMITTEE MEETING TUESDAY, OCTOBER 29, 2002 AT 7:30 P.M. MINUTES Present were: Ray Blum, John Sepenoski, Fred Lee, Ray Huntington and Melissa Spiro. Melissa spoke to the Committee about the Flower Hill property (Tom Uhl) 69-3- 10.1. It doesn't meet the moratorium. He has a major subdivision in with the Planning Board. The Committee wasn't interested in his proposal. Elak - the contract is done. Rutkoski - awaiting Federal comment. Dickerson - working on contract. Melissa is working with Betsy Dickerson and John Metzger re: the reserved area. Tim Caufield spoke to Melissa about the parcel on Fishers Island. They are still interested in making a donation of an easement to the Town. Scott Hughes will start in Melissa's office on November 1, 2002. His background is environmental. He'll be attending our meetings in the future. Melissa spoke to the Committee about the different grants, State and Federal. The State grant is 75% while the Federal grant is 50%. Ray Huntington spoke to the Committee about the appraisal list he worked on. He also showed the Committee a letter that could be sent to several appraisers on the list. The secretary will send out the letter. The next meeting of the Land Preservation Committee is scheduled for Tuesday, November 12, 2002 at 7:30 p.m. With no further business to be discussed, the meeting was adjourned at 8:55 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Joyce M.
