Melissa spoke to the Committee about the Zazecki parcel ( Custer ) 70-8-1 - approx. 6
acres - This property was purchased by the Town with 2% money. It is fallow right now.
The Land Preservation Committee is recommending that the Town formulate a
management plan for this property that would allow for the continued agricultural use of
the property. Fred Lee and Marty Sidor will work on possible proposals for the next
meeting.
Last week the Committee had a lengthy discussion about deer fence on Whitmores
Nursery property. Reed Jarvis will contact Bob Van Bourgondien of the Agricultural

Melissa received a call from Tom Stevenson. He has made an offer on the Mary Bess
Phillips property in Orient (18-6-5). It is fallow but he is interested in selling the
development rights on this. Dick Ryan suggested that Melissa tell him that when he is in
contract to then come to us. It will need a cover crop.
Tom Wickham told the Committee that Gail Wickham spoke to him regarding several
clients who are interested in selling their development rights but feel that the Town is not
paying a high enough price. Melissa will contact Gail Wickham.

It is an overgrown orchard approx. 27 acrs. He felt it was another possible property for
outreach by the Committee.

preserving land.
