MONDAY, JULY 30, 2001
M1NUTES
Present were: Dick Ryan, Ray Huntington, Ray Blum, Bill Edwards, Reed Jarvis,
Melissa Spiro, Marian Sumner and Brian Murphy.
The Committee discussed changing their meeting day to every other Tuesday.
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2001 at 7:30 p.m.
The Town Board 5 acre proposal is in the hands of the consultant.
Melissa handed out to the Committee a summary of preservation statistics for
their perusal. She told them to save any comments for the next meeting.
List for the County re: Open Space Acquisition Program. The North Fork
Environmental Council, the Nature Conservancy and the Peconic Land Trust are
asking for our list. Melissa will be working on the list.
Pipes Creek - Dick spoke to John Milazzo. The family is interested in clustering.
Dick told him that there were a lot of agencies they would have to deal with, such
as the DEC and the Trustees. Letters have been received from the Committee to
Preserve Pipes Cove, who are in opposition. They are well organized. The Town
would be interested in this for open space.
Ag & Markets Grant Application - So far Melissa has Dubner and Vanderbosch,
Ernst, Elak, Cullinane and Starkie for the list.
CPF update - is still being worked on.
Tomorrow night is the Suffolk County Farmland meeting at Riverhead Town Hall
at 6:30 p.m.
Ray Huntington, Ray Blum, Bill Edwards, Reed Jarvis and Melissa will be
attending the Town Board meeting on Fishers Island on Wednesday, August 8th.
Status of Applications before LPC:
Doherty - 9-8-2 - Melissa called him, he is still awaiting environmental report.
Lettieri - 35-5-1.2 -the members received a copy of the appraisal during the past
week. The Committee reviewed it.
Aurichio - 56-4-16 - Melissa and Greg Yakaboski went out to look at the
property and the encroachment issues. The Committee asked Melissa to ask Greg
to find out from Bill Price what is the basis for her claim to the driveway. We
will grant the easement if she gives the Town the right of first refusal.
Schreiber - 95-1-4 - Melissa received a call from Mr. Schreiber. He is looking
from a price adjustment. Melissa will contact him with an offer and also explain
to him about what 5 acre zoning would mean to him.
McGunnigle - 106-5-14 - Greg has been working on contract. Melissa has a
copy of survey. Mr. Costigan, the attorney for McGunnigle told Greg that Gerry
Goehringer offered to buy the half acre involved in the encroachment.
With no further business to be conducted, the meeting was adjourned at 10:15
PM.
