HomeMy WebLinkAboutLP-01/13/2004Town of Southold -- Land Preservation Committee Meeting Minutes Tuesday, January 13, 2004 Present were: Ray Blum, Ray Huntington, Fred Lee, John Sepenoski, Michelle Zaloom, and Craig Arm as well as Melissa Spiro, Bill Edwards and Tim Caufield. Previous Minutes: Minutes of 11/25/03, 12/16/03 and 1/6/04 were accepted. Land preservation Applications: SCTM# 1000-112-1-7 (Ed Harbes Rt. 48 in Mattituck near Riverhead town line) Discussed Town agratainment position. No change in offer recomendation. SCTM# 1000-55-2-10 and 55-3-6.1 ( Moffat in executive session) No change in offer recommendation. Facilitator PLT, Negotiator Spiro. SCTM# 1000-69-1-6 (Sepenoski Rt. 48 north of Boisassou in Southold -- in executive session) Sepenoski recusant from the discussion. No action. Land Preservation Inquires: SCTM# 1000-69-4-8.1 (4.2 acres of 8.2 on Rt.48 in Southold) Landowner will be encouraged to make a more specific proposal by Coordinator. SCTM# 1000-126-2-4.2 (TNC land in Mattituck)in Mattituck) Inquirey was for gift of land known as Husings Pond Reserve. Moved by Blum, seconded by Sepenoski, motion to recommend acceptance and take steps to take title carried 6/0. SCTM# 1000-126-4-18.1 (TNC ROW in Mattituck) Inquirey was for gift of a right of way near, but not cotiguous with, Husing Pond Reserve. Moved by Blum, seconded by Sepenoski, motion to recommend acceptance and take steps to take title carried 6/0. SCTM# 1000-120-3-11.12 (Peter Harbes, Rt. 48 in Mattituck)landowner will be encouraged by the Cordinator to make application and discuss specifics. General Land Preservation Items: · Policy regarding agricultural structures on preserved land being drafted by Lisa Kombrink was discussed. Comments are to be Emailed to the Coordinator by 4 PM Thursday 1/15 so they may be forwarded to attorney Kombrink. · LPC Financial Working Group Draft report dated 1/8/04 (to be discussed at the Town Board work session of 1/20/04) was described by Tom McAdam and Ray Huntington. Members were supportive. Other: · Coordinator Melissa Spiro provided a Status Update dated 1/12/04 and Status from attorney Kombrink dated 1/12/04. Coordinator Spiro also reported that $1,000,000 has been approved by the NYS Department of Agriculture against the grant application she filed for 10/3/03. Money should be available in 2004.
