To Whom It May Concern:
I am the owner of the property located at 1227 Pine Neck Road Southold, New York
County Tax MaF No. 473889, Section 070_ Block 0005. LoT No. 036. I am currently in
the process of completing the construction of a new single-family wood-frame residence
on the property trader the above referenced building permit.
On January 16, 2004, Building Inspector Gary Fish, was presem ar said premises to
conduct a final inspection. At that time he noticed that the tmfmished second floor space
noted on the b~ilding plans as "Unfinished Attic" was heated. In compliauce with the
directive of the Building Department I have removed all thermostatic controls from this
"Unfinished Aaic'? area. This space is now nnheated space.
I fl.u~rher certify by this letter that the floor below tkis space has been fully insulated
with R-19 fiberglass harts and the wall separating the "Unfinished Attic" from the "Loft"
is fully insnlated with R-11 fiberglass bans.
I believe that the above noted residence is now in full compliance with all the
requirements for the issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy.

Based on the information you have submitted, the New York State
Department of Environmental Conservation has determined that:
The property landward of the topographic crest of a bluff as shown
as elevation 18 on the survey prepared by Nancy Steelman, dated
1/24/97, is beyond the jurisdiction of Article 25.
Therefore, in ac.cordance with the current Tidal Wetlands Land Use
Regulations (6NYCRR Part 661) no permit is required under the Tidal
Wetlands Act. Please be advised, however, t~at no construction,
sedimentation, or disturbance of any kind may take place seaward of
the tidal wetlands jurisdictional boundary, as indicated above,
without a permit. It is your responsibility to ensure that all
necessary precautions are taken to prevent any sedimentation or
other alteration or disturbance to the ground surface or vegetation
w~thin Tidal Wetlands jurisdiction which may result from your
project. Such precautions may include maintaining adequate work
a~ea'between the tidal wetland jurisdictional boundary and your
preject (i.e~. a 15' ~o 20' wide construction area) or erecting a
t~po~ary fence, barrier, or hay bale berm.
P[ease be further advised that this letter does not relieve you of
the responsibility of obtaining any necessary permits or approvals
f~m other agencies.
