Krupski, President Board of Trustees Town of Southold Main Road Southold, NY 11971 Dear Mr. Krupski, Regarding the above refer~ced application, I have spoken to Mr. Joseph Liccardi regarding some of the concerns you brought up at the Public Meeting. Mr. Liccardi feels that the construction of the block retaining wall as designed will be both pleasing to the eye and wild be able to withstand any future storms. I would therefore request that the application be considered as submitted at the Board meeting in January 1998. Please note that one of the members of the board asked at the Public Hearing, what the depth of the footing was on the design. I think there may be some confusion in my answer to the Board. As shown in the cross-section, the footing is 8 inches deep. I have designed that two 8-inch blocks to be buried below the surface. The bottom of the footing will be a total of 24 inches below the finished grade on the water side.
