The ~outhold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor
Norm~nd E. Klipp at Greenport~ on Tuesday, October
19~3o The meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with
the following present: Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tut~ill,
Albertson and Clark; Town Superintendent ef Highways Price;
Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Albertson:~
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the previous meeting be
and hereby are duly approved as read.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill~
Albertson and Clark.
Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That the regular monthly audit meeting of
this Board be held at the office of Supervisor Norman
E. Klipp at Greenport~ on Thursday~ November 5~ 19~3,
at 1:30 P.M.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices
- Tu~hill, Rlbertson and CRark.
A communication was received from the Beard of Education
of the Orient School District requesting that they receive
police protection on Halloween.
Moved by Justice Albe~son; seconded by. Justice Clark:
BE IT RESOLVED: That police protection~be granted the
Board of Education of the Orient School District on
Halloween.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices
Tuthill, Albertson and Clark.
RESOLVED: That Chief of Police, Otto L. Anrig, be and
he hereby is authorized to employ extra help to main-
tain order on Halloween. Special Officers compensation
to be fixed at $10.00 per night~ they to furnish their
own car.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices
Tuthill,~Albertson and Clark.
Justice Tuthill stated he received a request to have
a light placed on Pole #9 in front of the Baptist Church
in Mattituck.
Noved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is direct-
ed to request the Long Island Lighting Company to install
one additional aerial street light in the Mattituck#1
Lighting District, said light to be placed on Pole #9 on
Factory Avenue, Mattituck, New York.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supevisor Klipp; Justices
Tuthill, Albertson and Clark.
Donald Rippey, Robert Mahou and Joseph Raynor~ repre-
senting the Public Housing Administration, appeared
before the Board requesting the Town of Southold to
accept certain highways laid out on a map of Greenport
Homes. The Supervisor was instructed to communicate
with the Public Housing Administration and inform them
as to the conditions precedent to the acceptance of
such highways.
A delegation consisting of Carroll D. Newell~ Mrs.
Rose C. Newell, Mrs. Frances O. Rich, Mrs. Louise O.
Day and Henry Sm~ith of Peconic, appeared before the
Board protesting and objecting to the reputed and alleged
construction plan of the Long Island Produce and Fertil-
izer company for the construction of a building to house
migrant labor on the Companys property at Peeonic. The
Supervisor stated he would communicate with the L. I~
Produce &Fert. Co.. and inform them of such a delegation
appearing before the Board and protesting against such
a building.
