The Southoid Town Board met at the office of Supervisor
~orman E, Klipp at Greenport~ July '7~ 19~3. The meeting
was called to order at 1:30 PoM. with the following present:
Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry~ Tuthill~ Albertson and
Clark; Town Superintendent of Highways Prices To~,m Attorney
Terry end Town Clerk Booth.
Th~ Board sat at once as a committee on Audit to examine
claims against the Town concluding ~he Audit work at 2 P.M.
Moved by Justice Albertson$ seconded by Justice Te~ry:
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the previous meeting be an~
hereby are duly approved as read.

RESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting of this Board
be held at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at
Greenport~ on Tuesday~ July 28~ 19~3~ at 1:30 P.M.

A request w~s received from Mr. Abitz requesting the Town
Board to have a light installed on pole No. 16~ on Marlene
Lane~ in Mattituck.
Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That the To~m Clerk be and hereby is direct-
ed to request the Long Island Lighting Company to install
one additional aerial street light in the Mattituck No. 1
Lighting District~ said light to be placed on Pole No. 16
on Mar!ene Lane~ Mattituck~ New York.

Justice Lester M. Albertso~ as a member of the Southold
Fire Department requests permission to hold the North
Fork Vol'muteer Firemans Association in Southoid on July i!~
19~3~ and to close tb normal traffic and use for tournament
purposes a portion of Town Harbor Lane.
Moved by Justice A!bertson; seconded by Justice Terry:
RESOLVED: That the request be granted the Southold Fire
Department to hold a tournament of the North Fork Volunteer
Eiremans Association in the village of Southold on July ll~
19~3~ and to close to normal ~affic and use for tournament
purposes a portion of Town Harbor Lane~ as long as is
necessary to complete the scheduled events of said tourna~
ment~ and to erect a temporary arch over said Lane and to
erect necessary ~randstand seats and fence on the sidws of
said Lane for protection of spectators~ providing the Town
of Southold be inde~mified and saved harmless from any and
all claims arising out of or by reason of the same and that
the Town of Southold be furnished with an~ins~ance of
indemnification.

RESOLVED: That General Bills in the sum of $3.62~.33,

and the same are hereby ordered paid.

RESOLVED: That Supervisor Norman E. Klipp be authorized to
sign an agreement between Aihen Holding C~rporation and
Joseph Czartosieski and the Town o£ So~2h6ld~ and a lease
between Joseph Czartosieski and the Town of Southo!d for
the use of a tract of land as a municipal parking field at
Southold.

A communication was received from ~obert'B. Sch~mr~ County
Attorney~ in connection with the tax settlement proposed
by .the Long ±s!and Railroad for mupaid Suffolk County T~xes.
Moved by JAstice Tuthi!l; seconded by Justice Aibertson:
RESOLVED: That in the opin~8n of this Board~ the proceeds
of the sale of the Far Rockaway Branch of the Lon~ island
Railroad Company to the City of New York should 'be devoted
to the rehabilitation of the railroad and the improvement
of its service and that the rapid growth of the C?unty re-
quires more and better railroad transportation~ and that
the failure to furnish such service would be grav~!y det-
rimental to the interests of' the County.
