HomeMy WebLinkAboutTB-02/10/1953MEETING OF FEBRHARY 10~ 19~3. The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport~ on Tuesday~ Eebruary lO~ 19~3. The meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M. ~ith the following present: Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry~ Tuthill~ Albertson and Clark; Town S~oerintendent of Highways Pricel Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth. The Board sat at once as a committee on Audit to examine claims §amnst the Town concluding the Audit work at 2:30 P.M. Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That the minutes of the previous meeting be and hereby are duly approved as read. Fote of Town Boar~: Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry~ Tuth~ll~_ ~ · Albertson and Clark. Stanley Corwin~ Esq. appeared before the Board on behalf of the Trustee of the Village of Greenport~ and presented papers cover- ing their proposed annexation of additional territory to the incorporated Village. This matter was laid on the table for further consideration. Mo~ed by Justice Clark: seconded by Justice Terry: RESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting of this Board be held at the o~fice of Supervisor Norman~ E. Klipp at Greenport~ on TueaSay~ February 24~ 19~3~ at 1:30 P.M. Vote of Town Board: Ayes- Superviso~ Klipp; Justices Terry~ Tuthill~ ~lbertson and Clark. The Bond of Edwin S. Con. lin w~s presented to the Bosrd for approval. RESOLVED: That Bond No. 2~1+6273 issued by the Fidelity and Casu- alty ComDany on behalf of EdEin S. Conklin in the Sum of $1~O00.00 be and the same is hereby approved as to its form~ sum~ manner of execution and sufficiency of surety therein. Moved by Jmstice Albertson$ seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That the Police Report for the month of January and the yearly Police Report for 19~2~ be accepted by the Town Board and placed on file. Tha~ the Police Reports be posted on the bulletin board in the office of ~he Police Department. Vote off_the TOwn Board: Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry~ Tuthill~ Albert~on and Clark. A communication was read from the Mattituck Chamber of Commerce requesting the Town Board to have the light on pole No~ 677 moved to pole No. 678 and replace with a 2~O c p light. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Terry: RESOLVED~ Tha~ the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to request the Long Island Lighting Company to remove the 100 c p liEht on pole No 677 and replace it on pole No 678 with a 2~0 cp light (near Mechanics Hall~ in the Mattituck Lighting District No. l~ Mattituck~ N. Y. Vote of Town Board: Ayes- Supervisor Klipp~ Justices Terry~ Tuthill~ Albertson and Clark. E request was received from the American Legion at Mattituck~ requesting the Town Board to have a light installed on pole No 6 on Wickham Avenue in Mattituck~ N.Y. Moved by Justice Tuthill~ seconded by Justice Terry: RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to request the Long Island Lighting Company to install one addition- al 100 c p aerial street light on pole no. 6 on Wickham Ave. in the Mattituck Lighting District No. l~ Mattituck~ N.Y. Vote of Town Board: Ayes- Supervisor Klipp$ Justiees Terry~ Tuthill~ ~lbertson and Clark. A petition was received from property owner~ on Marlene Lane Mattituck~ requesting the Town Board to have street lights installed on Marlen~ Lane~ in Mattituck. MO~d by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Albertson: RESOLVED: That the Tewn Clerk be and he hereby is directed to request the Long island Lighting Company to install five additional 100 c p aerial street lights in the Mattituck Lighting District No. l~ said lights to be placed on pole~ No. 392-~ No. 4~ No. 7~ No. lO and No. ~3 on Marlene Lane~ in Mattituck~ N.Y. Vote of Town Board: Ayes- Supervisor KlipD~ Justiees Terry~ Tuthill~ Albertson and Clark. A communication was received from Mr. A. F.~Weimann request- ing that street lights be installed near his property on Sound View Avenue. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Albertson: RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to request the Long island Lighing Company to install three additional 100 c p aerial street lights in the Peconic Lighting Distric~ sa~d lights to be placed on poles ~o 1OO No 103 and No 106 on Sound ~iew Avenue~ Southold~ N.Y. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Albertson: RESOLVED: That General Bills in the sum of $3~9~6.8~ Light- ing District Bills in the sum of $3~775.66~own Trustee Account Bills in the sum of $40.00~ Fishers ~sland Ferry District Bills in the sum of $6~446.73, Fishers Island Refuse and Garbage District Bills in the sum of $42.7~ be snd the same are hereby ordered paid. Moved by J~stice Terry; seconded by Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That by the Town Board of the Town of SoBthold ~ Ralph P. Booth~ To'~n Clerk~ be and hereby is authorized to dispose of record items No. C-1 on Records Disposition Request List No. i to 9 Imclusive~ l0 to 17 In~lusive, 18~ 21~ ~6~ ~8~ 64, - 6~ 67~ 68~ 69 issued pursuant to section ll~ of the Regulations of the Commissioners of Education~ and be it further RESOLVED: That the Clerk of this Board be~ and hereby is directed to furnish a certified copy of this Resolution to be forwarded to the Commissioner of Education.
