The regular monthly meeting and the annual Audit Meeting of
this Board was held at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp
at Greenport, on Tuesday, Deb~er 30~ 19~2. The meetin~ was
called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present.

Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by ~ustice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the previous meeting be and hereby
are duly approved as read.

A General Bill in the sum~ $200.00 was audited by the Town Board.

RESOLVED: That General Bills in the sum of $200.00 be and the
same is hereby ordered~paid.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes~-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill~

It was discussed as to the advisability of placing the Town High-
way, starting at Cox Neck Road~ at Mattituck, and extending
westerly to the To~n Line on the County Highway System. The
Supervisor was instructed to take the necessary steps to have
this matter accomplished.
A communication was read from Earle Timpson stating that due to
ill health he was tending his resignation as School Traffic
Officer~ at the East Cutchogue School, effective as of December
19, 19~2.
Moved by Justice Tuthi~l; seconded by Justice Terry:
RESOLVED: That the resignation of Earle Timpson as School Traffic
Officer at the East Cutchogue School~be accepted with regret~ and
be it further
RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be directed to forwar8 a letter of
commendation to Mr. Timpsono

RESOLVED: That on the recommendation of Ellsworth W. Bedell
and Albert W. Richmond~ Republican County Committeemen~ District
No. 10, Town of °outhold~oWilliam E. Wayb~e and he hereby is
appointed School Traffic fficer to direct traffic at the East
Cutchogue School crossing at a salary of ;goO0 per day for each
school day worked, effective as of anuary ~ 19~3, he to serve
at the pleasure of the Town Board.

RESOLVED: That Supervisor ~orman E. Klipp be and hereby is
authorized to enter into a lease with Edward L. Frost~ of
Orient~ New York~ for all that~tract or parcel of vacant land
situated~ l~ing and being at Orient in the Town of Southold~
Suffolk County~ New York~ bounded northerly by the land of Alex
Volinski, e~sterly by Main Street~ southerly by land of Elbert
Luce and westerly by other land of Edward L. Frost, for use as a
to~m parking lot for a term commencing the first day of January,
1953~ and ending December 31~ 1953~ in the amount of Thirty-five
Dollars ($3~.OO), and be it further
RESOLVED: That the above mentioned parking lot be included in
and covered by the Town's Scheduled 0wners~ Landlords and Tenants
Liability Policy in the amount of $20~O00.OOper person and
$~0~000.00 each accident.

~EREAS: The Village of Greenport~ New York~ through its Clerk
Harry L. Bel~ng~ has requested that the payment of Thirty-six
Hundred Dollars ($3600.00)~ normally due February l~ 19~3, for
fire protection 0.f the E-W Greenport Fire Protection Dis~rict~
be paid prior to February l~ 19-~3, and
W~EREAS: The Village of Greenport has indicated thatthese funds
are necessary to partially discharge a current obligation of the
Village of Greenp~rt due ~o the recent purchase and delivery of
a ~D P~per~ and ~
WHEREAS: Such payment will make it unnecessary for the Village
of Greenport' to'borrow such ~mount~ and
WHEREAS: T~e Town Board of the Town of Southold feels that it
Would be in the best interest of all to make such payment in

WHEREAS: The Board of Commissioners of the Fishers Island ~rry
District have advertised for bids for the operation of the MZV
MYSTIC ISLE for the period January l~ 1953~ to December 31~ 19~8~
and
WHEREAS:~ The Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District
feel that it is in the best interest of the District to enter
into a contract for such operation with Alfred S. Bicknell of
Mystic, ~,nnecticut~ in the amount of Sixty-three Hundred Dollars
($6,300. ~ per month for the above mentioned period~ and
WHEREAS: It has been recommended to l~e Southold Town Board by
the Commissioners of the said District that the Town Board approve
such contract~ now therefore be it
RESOLVED: That the Southold ~own Board approves the action of the
Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District in entering
into a contract with Alfred S~ Bicknell for the operation of
