The Southold Town BOard met at the office of Supervisor ~orman
Ni. ~Kli~p at Greenport~ on Th.u~rsday~ November 6, t9~2. The meet-
ing wa~called to order at 1.30 P. M..~with the following present:
Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry~ Tuthill, Albertson and Clark;
Town Superintendent of ~ighways Price; Town Attorney Terry and
ToWn C18rk Booth.
~The Board sat at once as a committee on audit to examine claims
~a~,ai~St the Town concluding the audit work at 2 P.M.

Eo0LVED: That the minutes of the previous meeting be and hereby
are duly approved as read.

The Public Hearing on the preliminar~ budget was formally open-
ed by the Supervisor at 2:00 O'clock P.M. in accordance with the
notice published in the newspapers of the town~ required by Section
ll~ of the Town Law. The Supervisor read the call of the Hearing
and as there were no interested persons having appeared before
the Board to speak either for or against any of the items in the
proposed budget~ the hearing was duly closed at 2:~0 P.M.
RES~LNTION OF TOWN BOARD ADOPTING AN~JAL BUDGET WITHOUT A~NDMENT
WHEREAS~ the Town ~Board of the Town of Ooutn~td has met at the
time and place specifie~ in the notice of public hearing on the
preliminary ~udget and heard all persons desiring to be heard
thereon; now~ therefore~ be it
RE~0L~ED: that the Town Board of the Town of Southold does here~y
adopt such preliminary budget as originally compiIed, as the
annual budget of this Town for the fiscal year beginning on the
1st day of ~anuary, 19~3, and that such budget as so adopted be
entered in detail in the minutes of the proceedings of this Town
Board~ a~d be it further
RESOLVED. That the Town Clerk of the Town of Southold shall prepare
and certify, in duplicater copies of said annual budget as adopted
~y the Town Board of the Town of ~outhold, together with the est-
· m~tes~ if any~ adopted pursuant to Section 292-a~ subd. 2~ of the
To~n Law and delive~ one copy thereof to the Supervisor of this
Town to be presented by him to the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Suffolk.

RESOLUTION OF TOWN BOARD APPROVING ANNUAL Bb~GET AND CALLING PUBLIC HE~RING THEREON
RESOLED: That this Town Board does hereby prepare and approve as
the preliminary budget of this Town for the fiscal yea~ beginning
on the 1st day of January~ 19~S, the itemized statement of estim-
ated revenues and expenditures hereto attached and made a part of
this resolution~ and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED:~ That such preliminary budget shall be filed in
the office of the Town Clerk where it shall be available for in-
spection by any interested person at all reasonable hours~ and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED: That this Board shall meet at ~6'clock P,~ on
6th day of November~ 19~2, for the purpose of h~lding a puo±~c
hearing upon such preliminary budget~ and be it
FUR~i~tER RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk give notice of such public
hearing in the manner provided in Section ll~ of the Town Law~ and
that such notice be published in substantially the following form:
NOTICE OF HEARING UPON PRELIMINARY BUDGET
Notice is hereby given that the preliminary budget of the Town of
Southold for the fiscal year beginning January lst~ 1953~'has been
completed and filed in the office of the Town Clerk atSSuthold~
New York, where it is available for~inspection by any ~nterest~
person at all reasonable hours.
Further notice is hereby given that the Town Board of the Town
of Southold will meet and review said preliminary budget and hold
a public hearing thereon, at The Office of the ~ ~ Green~
port, New Yorki at 2 l'clock P.m. on the 6th day Of NO
and that at such hearing any person may be heard in
against any item or items therein contained.

RESOLUTION OF SOUTHOLD TOWN BOARD ADOPTING
SPECIFICATIONS FOB COLLEOTION AND DISPOSAL
OF GARBAGE AND REFUSE FOR FISHERS ISLAND
GAHBAGE AND REFUSE DISTRICT AND INVITING
SEALED PROPOSALS FOR CONTRACT.
WHEREAS, specifications, estimate of expense and contract for
collection and disposal of garbage and refuse for Fishers ~sland
Garbage and Refuse District have been made and proposed~ and filed
with the Town Clerk of the Town of Southold, as directed by statute,
and have been examined by this Town Board~ now~ therefore~ be it
RESOLVED: that the said specifications~ e~tima{e Of expense aAd
contract~ be and each and everyone of rhe same ism hereby apprsved
and adopted~ and be it further
RESOLVED: that this Board invite sealed proposals to be submitted

to 'it at the Supervisor' ff ce on outh Street~ Greenport~ New
Iork~ at any time prior to 2:.00 o'clock P.M. November 25, 1952~ f
foz the collection and disposal of garbage and refuse in the Fishers
Island Garbage and Refuse District in accordance with aforesaid
specifications and under said contract, and ~that the Town Clerk
be, and he is hereby directed to prepare proper notices calling
for special .proposals~ in detail~ and cause the s~me to be pub~-
lished in due form of .law~ in The Long Island Traveler-Mattituck
Watchman~ in its issue of November 13~ i~2 and in the New London
Day, a newspaper published in New London, Connecticut~ in its issue
of November ,13~ .1952, and in The Suffolk Times tn its issue of
November 14~, 19~2. ,

Otto W. Van T~l appeared before the Board presenting a tentative
map of Marion ~nor for its approval for sub-division purposes.

RESOLVED. That. pursuant to Section 33~ of the Real Property'Law,
the Town ~ard does hereby approve the tentative map Of Marion
Manor~ situated at East ~arion, Town of Southold~ N.Y. owned'and
developed by-Peter Blank and °ons, for sub-division pur.pos~s~.

REs0L~ED. That the Southold Town Board approves the action o$ the
Commissioners of the FiShers Island Ferry District in entering into
a license contract No. DA-19-ENG20~5 between the Fishers Island
Ferry District and the Department of the Army for a period of one
year~ beginning October 1~ 19~2, and endin~g September 30, 1953~ in
the amount of One Dollar ($1.00) payable in advance~ for the non-
exclusive use of the following described premised for berthing and
wharfage purposes:
A certain parcel of land together with the
Government owned-dock~ warehouse building and
other apourtenances thereto located a~ the foot
of JOhn Etreet~ New London, Connecticut, as
shown outlined in red on Exhibit A Plan entitled
"Government Dock New London", Atteched thereto
and made a part thereof.

A petition was received signed by residents residing on Maple Lane
in Southold~ stating they found it difficult to safely gain access
wit~ their automobiles from Maple Lane to the Main Road due to the
parking of automobiles close to the entrance of said Lane. They
therefore request the Town ~o~rd to have "No Parking" signs placed
a distance of thirty (30) feet west of the intersection 6f Map~e~,
Lane and the Main Road and a distance of Twenty-five (2~) feet east
of said intersection. The Supervisor was instructed to take the
necessary steps to obtain the installation of said signs.
~ communication was read from Mr. Arthur Joost~ President of the
Southold Mree Library~ requesting the Town Board to have signs read-
~ing ~o Parking~Between Signs" placed on each side of the Library
driveway as it is difficult to use the same owing to the fact that
so many automobiles park in front of it. The upe~vmsor was mnstruct-
ed to take the necessary steps to obtain the installation of said signs.
