HomeMy WebLinkAboutTB-02/17/1961Meeting of February 17, 1961. 4t9 WAIVER OF NOTICE' OF TOWN:BOARDMEETING We,~the ,andersigned, being ~emb~s of~the Town Board of Sou~ old, Suffolk County, New York,~do hereby severally waive notice of the time, place and purpose of the meeting of the Town Board to be held ~-at Greenport, in the Town of Southold, New York, on.the 17th day of February, 1961 at 4:00 P.M. and do hereby consent to the same being held on ~said date for the transaction of any business which may properly come before this meeting. Grathwohl, COuncilman A special meeting of the Southold Town Board was held at the Supervisor's Office, 16 South Street, Greenport, New York, the members of the Board having waived notice of thetime, place and purpose of the meeting. The meeting, was called to order by. the Supervisor at 4:00 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Lester M. Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justice Clark. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl; WHEREAS, the Police Committee reported that the lowest bid on the Police cars was submitted by Lyon Ford, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Lester M. Albertson, Supevisor, be and he hereby is directed to enter into a contract ~ith Lyon Ford for the purchase of three new 1961 2-door sedans, standard model, 8-cylinder, automobiles at a totalccost of $4,199.00 to be delivered at the Police Department in Peconic, N.Y. in approximately four weeks. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Demarest: RESOLVED: That Supervisor Lester M. Albertson be and he hereby is authorized to have parking signs placed in the parking lot in Cutchogue, N.Y. as follows: 1. A sign erected at the South end of the west bound- ary fence of the Main Street Parking Field in the Village of Cutchogue with NO PARKING 25 feet north of sidewalk and a notice of a 3-hour limit for the rest of t~field. 2. A sign erected at the north boundary of the New Suffolk Parking field (opposite the Fire House) stating ALL DAY PARKING. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl; RESOLVED: That Lester M. Albertson be and he hereby is directed to enter into a contract to purchase one Radio for the Police Department. Vote of Town Board:.Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Clark~ seconded by Councilman Grathwohl; RESOLVED: That Stanley Francis Kowalczyk of Fishers Island, N.Y. be and he hereby .is appointed School Traffic Officer to direct traffic at the Fishers~ Island School Crossing at a salary of $4.00 per day for each school day worked, effective as of February 20, 1961, he to serve at the pleasure of the Town Board. Vote of Town ~oard: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Coun~lmen Demarest and Grathwohl, Justice Clark. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by' Councilman Demarest: ~REAS, the Town Board of the Town of Southold at a meeting held oM the 14th day of February, 1961 adopted a resolution authorizing the issuance of a Budget Note of the Town of Southold, Suffolk Co., New York, in the amount of $15,000.00 ~o cover the cost of snow removal for the Town of Southold,. BE IT RE~OLVED: That ehe aforesaid resolution be and t~esame is re- scinded ~nd repealed. . Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson, Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justice Clark. 42O Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Demarest: WHEREAS, during the present fiscal, year, the Town of Southold has re- ceived surplus funds in an amount of $70,000, being monies received from sources other than loans which are not otherwise committed or appropriated, to wit, monies remaining in the general fund at the close of the preceding fiscal year in excess of the anticipated unexpended balance s. ~--.._~ NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that $151000.00 of said surplus monies be and it is hereby transferred to the Clearing of snow and ice fund or account and ~that the amount heretofore appropriated for said fund: or account be and the same hereby is increased in the amount of $15,000.
