SOUTHOLD TOWN BOARD MINUTES Meeting of NOvember 9, 1971 The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Albert M. Martocchia, 16 South Street, Greenport, New York, on ~uesday, November 9, 197t~at 3:00 P.M., with'the following present: Superv~sOr~lbert~M~. MartocChia, Councilman~James H. Rich, Jr., Councilman Howard C. Valentine, Justice Martin Suter, Town Attorney Robert W. Tasker, Supt. Of.-Highways Raymond C. Dean, JustiCe Louis M. Demarest, and Town Clerk Albert W. Richmond. Absent: Justice E. P~y'EdWardS. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Justice Demarest, it was RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting of- November 4, 1971 be and they hereby are approved. V. By amending Section 10 of said ordinance to read as fo~lows:~ ~...~,~ . - ~ ..... SECTION 10. Adequate roadways or driveways. ~ shall be provided which ~hall be so located that ..each unit of the camp-is easily accessable therete. Said roadways or driveways shall be adequately lighted while such camp is occupied. Such roadways or driveways shall be constructed to a minimum width of 24 feet and the bed of such roadway or _ driveway shall be cons=ructed in accordance with the Sou%h©ld-Town Highway. Specifications as to ~base and surfacing~ Ail entrances and exits from the camp shall be well marked and so arranged as to provide proper control and supervision. ~. .,IV. By-amending'Section 13 of said ordinance to read as follows:- SECTION-13. It shall be the duty of ~he owner, his agent ou ~m~nager, %@ kCep-.a register' . - .~o~.all persons accomod~ted~in the'camp, said re~is~er..%o .i~q!.ude the names ~of all persons, their home addresses, the registration number and · description of their automobile or other vehicle. ~ It sha%l he the duty of the owner, his agent, or' manag~er to provide a sewerage disposal s~stem and -. _. a potable water~s~pplY. System for the tourist ~c~p approved by the Suffolk County Health Department. It shall'blso.be the duty of the · ~- .~ owner, his agent, or manmger to provide for the ~ · . cql!ection and re~oval of~-garbag~ or other waste mater%a!s; to prohibit-the.placing or storage of -~ u~sight!y materials or ,vehicles within the camp; to provide at least one f~ive (5~pound capacity ..... CO-~ ~ir~e extinguisher or equal, approve~ by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc., for each 5 units zn the camp or trailer park, such fire extinguisher to be so located that all of the units will be within 250 feet of an e~tinguisher; to report to the Board of Health all cases of communicable'diseases or suspected d&ses of communicable diseases affect- ing any occupant'of the ,camp~ to report immediately to the public authority all violations of Law committed by any person or persons within the~ camp;~ to install and maintain a sufficient number of telephones as may be required by the Town Board. UII. ~By ~mending Section ~5 of said ordinance to read as follows: SECTION 15. On every toqrist camp or trailer. camp a sui%a~le planting of shrubbery will be required, to sc~eeh the trailer camp from public lands and-.~ublic highways, and other areas, as may be required. The planting shall be of such type and variety and located as approved by the Town Board. VIII. By amending the first science of Section 16 of said ordinance to read as follows:~ SECTIQN 16._ Each application for a permit_ is tobeaccompanied, by a fee of $!0.00 for each unit or $200.00 whichever is greater.. IX. By amending Section 18 of said ordinance to read as f~llows: SECTION 18 .... Any~person, firmj or ~orporation who shall u~ate or fail to_comply~wi~h any Qf the prouisions of this. ordinance, shall be . of a violation, and shall upon conv~ction b~.~punish- able.by a-fine not to exceed $500:~00 or by imprison- ment ~for a term not, exceeding 15 days or by~b~th. such fine and imprisonment. A motion was made by Justice Suter and seconded by Supervisor Martocchia on the acceptance of roads in Sunset Knolls, Section 2. After discussion Justice Suter withdrew his motion and Supervisor Martocchia withdrew his second of said motion. No vote was taken. Recess was called at 4:00 P.M., to reconvene at 5:00 P.M. Martocchia be and he hereby is authorized to advertise for bids for a front end loader (tractor) for use at the Town Disposal Area. Specifications to be supplied by the Superintendent of~Highways. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor~ Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Valentine, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Justice Demarest, seconded by Councilman Valentine, it was RESOLVED: That General bills in the amount of $16,813.22; Special District bills in the amount of $6,220.25; Fishers Island Ferry District bills in the amount of $20,~.58; ~ghw~ytb~t~sm~n the a~ount of $20,841.65, be and the sam~.are hereby ordered paid. Supervisor Martocchia advised the Board that notice of proposed dredging of the entrance of Corey Creek, Southold, Gull Pond, Gree~port, and Wickham Creek, Cu~chogue, was received and any objections should be filed immediately.
