Martocchia, 16 South S~reet, Greenport, New York, on Tuesday, Seotember 21, 1971 at 31:00 P.M., with the following present: Supervisor Albert M. Martocchia, Councilman ~mes H. Rich, Jr., Justice Martin Suter, Justice Louis M. Demarest, and Town Clerk Albert W. Richmond. Absent: Councilman Howard C. Valentine, Justice E. Perry Edwards, Town Attorney Robert W. Tasker, Supt. of Highways Raymond C. Dean. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Demarest, it was RESOLVED that the next meeting of the Town Board will be held at the office of Supervisor Albert M. Martocchia, 16 South Street, Greenport, New York, on Tuesday, October 5, 1971 at 3:00 P.M., Vote of the Town Board:i Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Justice Suter, Julstice Demarest. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by CSuncilman Rich, it was RESOLVED that the minubes of September 7, 1971 be and they hereby are approved. Vote of the Town Board:~ Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Justice Suter, Juistiee Demarest~ Moved by Councilman Rich, sec~dded Justice Demarest, it was RESOLVED that Frank Berry, Southold, New York be and he hereby is appointed Dog Enumerato~ for the Town of Southold, N~w York, for the year t971-72. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, ~JuStice Suter,-Justice~Demarest. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by JusticeDemarest, ~% was RESOLVED that Roger Burns, Mattituck, New York, be appointed as a member of the Local ~arcoti~.Guidance Council. Moved by-Justice Suter, seconded~by Councilman Rich, P R 0 C L A M A T I O N WHEREAS, the 4-H program of Cooperative Extension since it s beginning 53 years ago has contributed much-to the.health and welfare of the Nation and has encouraged many young people to choose careers..which help improve family and~community living~ and WHEREAS, during this week 4-H~members will honor all 4-H families for their accomplishments and their devotion to the high ideals of 4-H; and WHEREAS, 4-H members put into practice the skills and sciencesthey learn as they develop their talents through 4.-H projects and strive to "learn for living;" WHEREAS, in these changing times young people, who are the citizens of tomorrow, must discover-and acquire the virtues of responsibility, thoughtfulness, morality and understanding; WHEREAS, the more than 500 volunteer adult 4-H leaders are organizing their 4-H~ Clubs for the 1971-72 year~ many others ar~ organizing clubs, for the first ~time; and WHEREAS, the%nearly 35,000 boys and girls now~ enrolled in 4~H programs throughout Suffolk County soon will be taking their places in society by establishing homes of theirs.own and.joining the ranks of community leaders; NOW, THEREFORE, I, Albert M. Martocchia, Town Supervisor of Southold Township, in recognition of the fine achievements of 4-H members and their families'do hereby p~oclaim the week of October 3 9, 1971 as NATIONAL ~ -H WEEK IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of this office to be affixed. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded,by Justice Demarest, it was RESOLVED that the Southold Town Board release the bond of $4,500.00 as recommended by the Southold Town Planning Board for the completion of roads and other improvements in the sub- division known as Sunset Knolls, Section I~ owned.by Stanley Sledjeski, Mattituck, New York. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Rich, WHEREAS W. Edgar Worthington, Mattituck, New York, has applied to the Town Board for a single trailer renewal permit dated September 9, 1971, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the application of W. Edgar Worthington to locate a single trailer on his property at Sound Avenue, Mattituck, New York, be and the same is granted for-a slx (6) month period. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Justice Demarest, seconded by Councilman Rich, BE IT RESOLVED by Town Board of Town of~Southold, that Raymond Dean, Highway Superi~ed~ht be and he zs hereby authorized-to execute for and in behalf of the Town B6aBdu~othe Town of Southold, a public entity established under the laws of the State of New York, this application and to file it in the appropriate State office for the purpose of obtaining certain Federal financial assistance under the Federal Disaster Act (Public Law 606, 91st Congress). Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by J~stice Demarest, it was RESOLVED that Supervisor Martocchia and Town Attorney Tasker investigate the possibility of a water study for the Mattitu~k- Cutchogue area. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, ~Councilman Rich, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Rich, it was RESOLVED that the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to request the Long Island Lightzng Co. to install one (1) 175MV street light on Pole No.31 , 8rathwohl Road, New Suffolk, NeW York. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Justice Suter, Justice Dema~est. Moved by Councilman Rich, seconded by Justice Demarest, it was RESOLVED that Supervisor Martocchia be and he hereby is authorized to investigate the possibility of purchasing a n~w copy machine for the Town Justices.
