Martocdhiar 16 South Street, Greenport, New York, on Tuesday, September 7, 1971 at 8:00 P.M., with the following present: Supervisor Albert M. Martocchia, Councilman James H. Rich, Jr., Councilman Howard C. Valentine, Justice Martin Suter, Justice Louis M. Demarest, Town Attorney Robert W. Tasker, Supt. of ~ighways Raymo~d-C~ Dean, and Town Clerk Albert W. ~ichmond. Absent: Justice E. Perry Edwards. Moved by Councilman Rich, seconded by Justice Suter, it was RESOLVED that the next meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Southold will be held at the office of Supervisor Albert M. Mart0cchia, 16 South Street, Greenport, New York, on September 21, 1971 at 3:00 P.M. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Valentine, Justice $uter, Justice Demarest. Moved bY Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Rich, it was RESOLVED that the minutes of the Fishers Island meeting of August 17, 1971 be and they hereby are approved. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Valentine, Councilman Rich, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Councilman Valentine, seconded by'JustiCe Demarest, it was RESOLVED that the reports of Supervisor Martocchia, Justi'ce Suter, Police Chief Cataldo, Building Department and Tow~ Clerk Richmond, for the month of August 1971 be and they hereby are accepted by the Town Board and placed on file. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Valentine, Justice Suter, Justice DemareSt. Moved by Justice Demare~t, seconded by'Councilman Valentine, it was RESOLVED that the Southold Town Board request the Village of Greenport Water and Power Company to make a feasibility water st'udy of the Goose Neck area, Southold, New York. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Valentine, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Councilman Valentine, seconded by Justice Suter, it was RESOLVED that John D. Young, Second St~'eet, ~Greenport, and Edward Curran, Center Street, Mattituck, New York, be and they hereby are appointed Dog E~umerators for the Town of Southold for the year 1971-72. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Valentine, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Councilman Valentine, seconded by Justice Suter, it was RESOLVED that a public hearing will be held by the Town Board of the Town of Southold on the 28th day of September, 1971, at 8:00 o'clock P.M. of s~id day at the Southold High School, Oaklawn Avenue, Southold, New York in the matter of the amendment of the Town o~na~u~ei~titled "The Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold, SuffOlk County, 'New York", together with the Building Zone Map~ forming a part thereof, as follows, to wit: (See Page 68~. Vote of'the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Valentine, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Rich, it'was RESOLVED that Edward Lademann, Deputy Fire Coordinator, be and he hereby is authorized to have radio transferred to his other car. Moved by Councilman Rich, seconded by Supervisor M~rtocchia, it was RESOLVED that the firm of Rogers and Taylor be retained as appraisers for the condemnation of property for the Grand Avenue Bridge, Mattituck, New York. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Valentine, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Justice Surer, seconded by Justice Demarest, i~ was RESOLVED that Police Chief Cataldo be and he hereb~ is requested to contact the State Traffic Commission to change stop sign to yield sign at the corner of Westphalia Avenue and Youngs Avenue, Mattituck, New York. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Valentine, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Justice Demarest, seconded by Councilman Rich, it was RESOLVED that $469.38 be and hereby is transferred from Item 3 to DM9060.8 ~ospital and Medical Insurance. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor M~rtocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Valentine, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Councilman Rich, seconded by Councilman Valentine, WHEREAS the Southold American Legion, Griswold-Terry-Glover Post ~803, Southold, New York, applied to the Town Clerk for a Bingo License, and WHEREAS the Town Board has examined the application and after investigation duly made findings and determinations as required by law, NOW, THEREFORE., BE IT RESOLVED that the Supervisor be and he hereby is authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the Town Board the findings and determinations as Required by law, and it is further RESOLVED that the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed.~to issue a Bingo License to the Southold American Legion, GrlswoldL Terry-Glover Post ~803, Southold, New York. Moved by Justice Demarest, seconded by Justice Suter, WHEREAS Donald Tuthill and Lorna Tuthill, his wife, have made application to the Town Board to dedicate certain highways ~t Southold New York, to be known as Yennicott Drive, Tuthill Road, ~to~ether and Long Creek Drive, more fully described in said p~titi0n, with release executed by the owners thereof, and WHEREAS, the Highway Superintendent has inspected the said highways and has advised the Town Board that said proposed highways comply in all respects with the specifications for the dedication of high= ways in the Town of Southold, ~ NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Clerk be and h~ hereby is authorized ~nd directed to forthwith cause th~ dedication, release and deed to be recorded in the office of the Clerk of the County of Suffolk. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Justice Demarest, it was RES~OLVED~that the Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Southold, be authorized to advertise for bids and to purchase from ~the lowest responsible bidder the following more or less, as needed: 300 tons of Grade No. 1 Cayuga (or equal) Rock Salt. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Valentine, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Councilman Rich, seconded by Councilman Valentine, it was RESOLVED that the Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Southold be authorized to advertise for bids and to purchase from the lbwest responsible bidder, the following: Item No. 1 - 20,000 lin. feet of snow fence with pickets 1~ x ~ inches, spaced 2 inches apart, 4 feet high stained red, with five (5) double strands of 12½ ~auge galvanized wire, in 100 lin. foot rolls. Item No. 2 - 1,000 - 6 ft. studded steel T posts, with flanges or anchor plates on posts, posts shall not be less than 8.65 lbs. each. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Valentine, Justice Surer, Justice Demarest. Recess was called at 9:45 P.M. to reconvene at 10:00 P.M. Moved by Justice Demarest, seconded by Councilman RiCh, it was RESOLVED that General Fund bills in the amount of $8,364.41, Special District bills in the amount of $4,501.29, Fishers Island Ferry District bills in the amount of $18,325.43, ~ighway bills in the amount of $13,113.74, and Capital Fund b~lls in the amount of $70.98 be and the same are hereby ordered paid. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Valentine, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. (At 3:00 P.M., September 7, 1971, in accordance with the notice published according to law, bids were opened for lumber for the Justice Court. Only two bids were submitted: Greenport Lumber $2,73~.00, and Fleet Lumber $3,330.00. The bi~s were held for study.)
