They are resting partially on the concrete piers. About 75% of the 6" x 6" wood post is bearing on the pier. The test hole shows that the concrete piers are bearing on "pale brown fine to coarse sand" which is type SW soil. This soil has a bearing capacity of 3-6 tons or 6,000 to 12,000 #/sq. ft. The concrete piers are 12" x 12" square and will support a minimum of 6,000#. The actual load on the post is 2,300#, or approximately 1/3 of the minimum capacity .
