Dear Mr. Cleary:
As per your request, I visited your new dwelling in Mattituck to review the following
comments as noted by the Building Department inspector:

Nail stops were used for protection at all piping penetrations thru studs (see
Exhibit A attached).
Appropriate firestopping details were employed between the boiler flue and
surrounding construction (see Exhibit B attached).
It is my belief that the water piping in the basement is not in danger of
freezing during winter conditions due to a) the boiler being located in the
basement; b) the existence of heating pipes at the underside of the first floor;
and c) the entire perimeter foundation walls is clad on the exterior face with
rigid insulation (underground), or rigid insulation behind the siding (above
ground), and d) the existence of pipe insulation wherever practical.
To the best of my knowledge, the dwelling is constructed in accordance with
approved plans, therefore, the height of the highest ridge is below the
maximum height allowed.
