Each of the two parcels as proposed will not contain more than one single-family dwelling. (2) The benefit sought by the applicant cannot be achieved by some method, feasible for applicant to pursue, other than an area variance because there is no other land area available and it would be costly to relocate the buildings and access drive. (3) The requested area variances are substantial in relation to the code requirement. (4) No evidence has been submitted to show that the grant of the requested variances will have an adverse effect or Impact on the physical or environmental conditions In the neighborhood or district. There will be no increase in the number of bedrooms, bathrooms or plumbing fixtures. Nor will there be any change to the building "footprint', square footage, height, number of stories, etc. At my recommendation, the owner intends to maintain, and continue to use, the existing sewage disposal system. As a condition for subdivision approval, Craig Knepper of the Suffolk County Department of Health Services required that we abandon the existing well (located in close proximity to the sewage system) and install a new well with the appropriate separation. I personally designed and administered the installation of this work. As per your request, and in connection with the Application For Building Permit submitted for the above project, I would like to offer the following affidavit; I am familiar with the Suffolk County Department of Health Services standards and requirements for single-family sewage disposal and water supply systems. I am also experienced in the design and construction of these systems in the Town of Southold. Based on my knowledge of residential water systems, my understanding of subsurface conditions present at this site, and on reliable information provided by the installers, it is my professional opinion that the well has been installed in a manner that will best provide for adequate quantities of potable water. Based on my investigation of the existing sewage disposal system, and on reliable information furnished by the owner about the past and current performance of this system, it is my professional opinion that the existing sewage system can be expected to continue to perform adequately,while protecting the safety, health,and welfare of the public. y .
