Zoning Update Advisory Committee
Meeting Minutes
November 30, 2023
Attending. All members were present plus Julie McGivney, Assistant Town Attorney
1. Name &Tagline -The Town Board accepted this committee's
recommendation.

2. Update on Website Edits
Most of the changes recommended by the committee have already been
completed by the consultant. We will send notification to the committee when
they are all done. See next item below for ideas to get the word out.
3. Review Website Survey Questions
a. The committee reviewed draft survey questions.
b. Decision to simplify the survey and center it around the
Comprehensive Plan goals and add an educational component.
i. 13 goals- score them 1 to 5 for how important you believe they
are.
ii. Questions such as "Are you aware the Town has a
Comprehensive Plan?" Yes or No and include a link to the plan.
Same for some questions about zoning.
c. A draft of this survey from the consultant will be provided before the
next meeting.
d. The committee recommended a relaunch of the website and publicity
around it to get as many as possible to become aware of the project.

4. Community Tours
a. Greenport West & East Marion/Orient to be combined into one. Date to
be determined.
• Saturday Catch-up Tour is scheduled for 12/2 1pm-3:30pm
b. Fishers Island
• Committee decided to wait until spring when the time-
commitment can be cut from 12 hours to six by using a charter
boat.
• Fishers Island Planning Board member will take some ground-
level video in the meantime.
5. Other business:
a. The Committee reviewed the Town's tracking report for the rate of
preservation and development since 2004
6. Next meeting date and time
a. December 14, 1pm at the Town Hall Annex Board Room
b. Agenda will include beginning to review specific zoning districts and
their locations. Transition zones such as Limited Business &Residential
Office zoning districts.
