The existing one-story frame house with garage was built in 1970 at an elevation of slightly more than 10 feet and at a distance of about 91 to 105 feet from the bulkhead. The proposed construction will not impose on the natural environment in any way. The construction will be strictly limited to the existing footprint of the building and will not require any clearing, grading, excavation and filling. The proposed alteration consists of raising the ceiling height of the Living Room and Dining Room from currently 8'-0"to a vaulted ceiling height of approximately 12'-8"and the subsequent installation of three skylights(size: 45 x 72). A small,skylight(size: 32 x 45)will be installed in each of two bathrooms. In the Master Bedroom one window will be enlarged and a sliding door will be changed to a window. Furthermore on the East Elevation the Powder Room door will be changed to a window and the garage window will be changed to a door. The exterior Street Elevation will not be affected by the proposed alterations. The structural changes to the house will be supervised by Mr. Lawrence Tuthill and the architect.
