Approval of Minutes of meeting on September 13, 2023. Discussion Items: Committee has prepared a good working list of the Town tree locations and is now ready to stake out the locations and choose suitable tree types. We spoke of planting a tree and plaque in memory of deceased longtime committee member Phil Goldman, but will wait a respectable amount of time before we contact his widow to discuss same. Jill reported that the Town Board recognized Phil at their last Town Board meeting with a moment of silence. The tree and plaque in memory of Anne Trimble is ready to be planted this fall at Down's Farm. Regarding the proposed Tree Code,we have submitted our opinions/suggestions to Town Attorney after a review of the latest draft of the Code. Curtis Rand will be getting back to us about the 2-3 trees that Fishers Island will possibly want planted there. Committee picked their meeting dates for 2024. The first letter to the participating schools for the Arbor Day contest will be prepared and sent out next week—with emphasis on the fact that it is an Arbor Day not Earth Day poster contest. Discussion was held regarding the increasing amount of dead trees on the State road. Dan advised that he has a meeting with the DOT next month. We will next meet on November 15, 2023. This meeting was adjourned at 7:15 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Diane DiSalvo
