Wiggins. Because of some work that Mrs. Beaney had done on the premises before the conveyance which had not been approved by the Town, we have been holding an escrow since the closing. On behalf of Mrs. Beaney we filed an application to obtain a building permit for work that was done to enclose a screened in porch. On August 7, 2000 Tom Samuels, an architect retained by Mrs. Beaney, wrote your office suggesting a way of venting the enclosed porch, a copy of which I enclose. Has the Department considered the suggestion made by Mr. Samuels? If so, would you please let us know what can be done to conclude this matter. When the application was filed we sent our firm check dated January 29, 1999 for the filing fee. We are, therefore, sending another check in the amount of $100 for the fee. My proposed solution to that situation involves lowering the attached aluminum gutter currently on the fascia board, and Installing individual louvered vents between each roof rafter. This will allow air to ventilate the insulation in the roof, and prevent the kinds of problems associated with unventilated spaces. Please get back to me with your approval of this proposed solution, or your additional thoughts. Thereafter, we will have the work done, and you will be notified for a final inspection prior to issuing a Certificate of Occupancy. Thank you, Tom Samuels cc.
