How- ever, saving energy is mighty important these days, too. If you buy the right size heater and use it properly, you can be confident you're not wasting fuel and money or sacrificing pool comf6rt. Heater size depends on the size of the pool and how you intend to use it If you're going to swim every day you, will want to keep the pool water close to swimmable temperature all the time so use the TEMPERA- TURE MAINTENANCE table. For just weekend swimming, you can save fuel by turning the temperature ' control down 8 to 10 degress below swimming temperature during the ~'<-eek then resetting the control 24 hours before rou want to swim. Use the FAST HEATING table. . Firet, calculate the area of your pool in square feet Next, determine the temperature rise (the difference be- - tween the average air temperature during the coldest month you plan to use your pool and the pool water - temperature you desire). htcidentally, the National Swimming Pool hlstitute and the American Red Cross - ~ recommend 78° as the most healthful swim temperature. Now look in the table which corresponds to your preference and find the right model for you. ' Example: 'A' 20' x 36' pool (720 Sq. Ft.) is located in an area where the average air temperature is 60° F. The"desired pool wafer temperature is 78° F. (Tempernture rise ;is 18°). Fast heating is desired. .In the Fast 1Ieatidg table fiitil~the pool area closest to; but no lessthan T20 sq. ft. on the line opposite the 20° teiperature rise. The ~los~eet~riumlaer is,730 uncker the ~eoluirih headed by the Model Number DP-350.
