The new buyer is asking for an updated certificate of occupancy. The most recent CofO dates back to July 23, 1999 for a garage addition with attached utility room. The records indicate that the dwelling was built before April 23, 1957 as a private one family home for summer occupancy (see CO 09.26.75). Another CO was issued October 6, 1989 for a deck addition. In 1990 the owner applied for a building permit to winterize her home in order to turn it into a full time residence. She had all windows replaced with thermopane glass replacements and insulated the house to code which was in effect at that time. I inspected the residence last week and was able to verify that the insulation in roof and walls was adequate according to code in 1990. The building inspector issued a CO March 4, 1992. I herewith certify to the best of my knowledge that the installation of windows and insulation was performed as per NYS code in 1990.
