Since August or Septernber of 1988 I have engaged in completing the house myself and now find that I am unable to complete the house by the expiration date and will require an additional period of 6 months to do so. The permit was issued to my contractor, John Bertani Builder, Inc., who was retained by me to install the foundation and sanitary system and to frame the house. Mr. Bertani's phase of the work hs been finished and I have undertaken to complete the construction of the dwelling. To date, all work has been done under inspection by and with the approval of your department. To the best of my knowledge, only one item requires correction, viz., the installation of air vents in the northeast soffit, and I intend to install the vents when weather permits and prior to final inspection. It is my understanding that the building permit is of 18 months' duration and that its expiration date is January 30, 1989. Based upon my own estimate that completion of the house will require approximately 4 to 6 months of additional time, I respectfully request that the building permit be extended for an additional six-month period to July 30, 1989. 3 a Page Two.
