The current state of the east side of the property is that it is eroding onto the neighbor's property which reduces the useful space of both properties and presents a safety threat to anyone maintaining or using this area of the property. The driveway extends along this area, and it is not safe to drive on. if unchecked, the erosion will eventually become a safety issue for the house itself.A landscape wall along the east and south sides is prudent and will resolve those safety issues. Additional benefits to the landscape wall are: M The useful area to both Carol's property and the property to the east will increase. 0 Weather runoff will be reduced to the neighbor's property to the east. 0 Weather runoff to the bay will be reduced. 0 The overall look of the property from the perspective of the neighbors to the east and west should be markedly improved. The Allison's have been in this house for decades, are an integral part of this community and just one of the reasons we love Southold, Cutchogue, and Fleet's Neck. ,A Best regards, Roy Schumacher 980 Southern Cross Road Cutchogue, NY 11935 DECEMBER 11, 2023 HAND DELIVERED MR. To the Southold Town Trustees, My wife Sue and I, have known Carol and her late husband, David, since we built our house in 1987. They have been neighbors and we have enjoyed their friendship. Carol wants to put up a landscape wall on the east side of her property. She is concerned that with the property sloping down more and more, it is becoming a dangerous situation. The shrubs are leaning more towards the neighbor's property and it is making it more hazardous to mow. The slope and the supporting wall on her property, are collapsing. Carol, being a good neighbor, does not want her property to collapse onto the neighbor's property. We support Carol's efforts to safe guard her property and we know she wants to work with the Trustees to make sure that the work will be done properly for the safety of everyone. r S eel , hn Stype 85 East Rd Cutchogue, NY 11935 NOVEMBER 12, 2023. It is my understanding that this matter will appear before you in the near future for consideration of a landscape structure on their property.I respectfully ask that their application and property be afforded every consideration available wider the town code. I have resided across the street from the Allison family for the past 10 years, luring that time, I have witnessed an attentive family who takes meticulous care of their property and has great consideration of their neighbors.During a recent visit to their home,it was evident that the South-East portion of their driveway is collapsing and eroding away towards their neighbor to the East. This portion of their driveway is in disrepair and in need of structural landscape support to prevent further erosion, a potential collapse and protection of their neighbor's property. As their neighbor,I fully support their proposed landscape structure on the South-East side of their property at 820 East Road.Thank you in,advance for your anticipated consideration.
