TOWN OF SOUTHOLD
Minutes of September 25, 2023 meeting
• Meeting was called to order at 4:00 pm by John Slattery
• Present were: Chris North, Jack Slattery, Michael Regan, Tom MacLeod, William
Ryan, Jim Abbott
• Also attending: Don Fisher, Chief Flatley
• Minutes of August 28, 2023 meeting were approved
Old Business
o Don Fisher responded to Mik Regan's previous request by providing an
overview of Southold's cell coverage/dead spot. Verizon coverage is
deficient and in need of an additional cell tower. The Town Board is
apparently working with Verizon on a solution
o Tom MacLeod and Chief Flatley discussed the notion of social service
workers potentially responding to conflict resolution calls. Chief outlined
approach currently under use.
o Jim Abbott and Tom MacLeod overviewed their meeting with Jill Doherty
re: the planned court house/police building.
• New Business
o No new business was discussed.
NOTE The PAC offered congratulations to the chief and the PD on the
recent series of drug busts in Greenport.
• Next Meeting Monday October 30, 2023 @4:00 pm
• Meeting adjourned at 5:03 pm
