Y. 11971 Re: The Original Barge Restaurant on Peconic Bay Main Rd., Southold, N.Y. 11971 Owner: Helen Reiter Reconstruction of South Wing Dear Mr. Lessard: During the week of May 29 through June 2 the following reconstruction work was completed: 1) Wall and Sill Repairs: a) All substandard sills were removed and replaced by 2" x 6" CCA treated lumber. b) Wall studs were fastened to the replaced sills and new 1/2" x 8" "L" lag bolts were provided 8' on centers in the replaced sills. c) Sills were constructed to allow full concrete support upon replacement of floor. 2) Floor Reconstruction: a) All flooring and subfiooring was removed. b) All substandard support timbers were removed. c) 80 cubic yards of clean sand fill was placed, and compacted to proper subgrade, around and over existing concrete fill and piers. d) 6" of 3000 psi concrete with 6" x 6" steel mesh and random 1/2" deformed reinforcing rods was placed over the sand base. To meet existing concrete floor elevations, the newly placed concrete was gently sloped to provide a safe grade transition.
