SCTM# 1000-25-4-11.1 Owner: John and Marissa Gibbons RESOLUTION: WHEREAS, 1380 Orchard Street, Orient,NY, is on the Town of Southold Registry of Historic Landmarks; and WHEREAS, as set forth in Section 56-7 (b) of the Town Law(Landmarks Preservation Code) of the Town of Southold, all proposals for material change/alteration must be reviewed and granted a Certificate of Appropriateness by the Southold Town Historic Preservation Commission prior to the issuance of a Building Permit; and, WHEREAS, on August 22, 2023, the applicant's representative, Melissa Butler, submitted a proposal to construct additions and alterations to a single family dwelling (rear deck), and to install a fence surrounding an in-ground swimming pool upon residential property listed on the Town of Southold Registry of Historic Landmarks; and WHEREAS, Engineered Site Plans indicating proposed improvements, including the wooden deck and four (4) feet in height pool fence,prepared by Jeffrey T. Butler, LPE, last revised September 11, 2023; were received by the Commission on September 19, 2023; and WHEREAS, the applicant came before the Commission on September 28, 2023, at a public hearing in order to review the proposed improvements to the single family dwelling (deck), and the fence surrounding the rear yard of the property including an in-ground swimming pool as depicted in the site plan prepared by Jeffrey Butler, P.E., last revised September 11, 2023; and Certificate of Appropriateness#09.28.2023.1 HPC,John Gibbons, 1380 Orchard Street, SCTM No. 1000-25-2-11.1 WHEREAS, the proposed improvements are depicted in photographs of a single family dwelling addition (deck) made of natural mahogany (Exhibit B & C)received August 22, 2023; and a four (4) foot high fence surrounding the swimming pool, consisting of 4 inch by 4 inch by 48 inch high post, material of natural cedar, mesh made of galvanized steel wire with 2 in. by 2 in. openings (Exhibit A signed by applicant, John Gibbons); and WHEREAS, the applicant shall submit to the Commissioners photographs of the finished improvements upon completion; and WHEREAS, the Commissioners may conduct a site inspection of subject premises once improvements are completed; and NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED,that the Southold Town Historic Preservation Commission determines that Engineered Site Plans indicating proposed improvements, including the wooden deck and four(4) feet in height pool fence, prepared by Jeffrey T. Attached is the revised Site Plan which shows the location of the pool fencing as per the request of the board members. If you recall, our previous Site Plan showed the pool fencing just around the pool patio but the homeowners decided that they want the fence on the property line. I will drop off 3 hard copies of the Site Plan to you as well but I am also working on the HPC mailings/posting which I will have completed by Thursday at the latest. Do you want me to drop off the 3 sets of the Site Plan now or do you prefer that I wait&give you the hard copies of everything all at once (revised site plan, affidavits, mail receipts,etc.)?
