Dear Mr. and Mrs. Monson:
With regard to your letter dated August 28, 2023, along with photographs
requesting to trim a tree located in your yard which abuts the wetlands, and
which tree was seen by Trustee Elizabeth Peeples on September 11, 2023, the
Board of Trustees determined that the tree may be trimmed.
No permit will be required in order to perform this work. If further action is
required in regard to this tree, please contact the Trustee office.
Any other activity within 100' of the wetland boundary requires a permit from this
office.
This is not a determination from any other agency.

To the Trustees:
We own the waterfront property located at 600 Smith Drive South, Southold, NY
11971.
We contacted Jonathan M. Shipman, owner of Shamrock Tree Company P.O. Box
1472, Mattituck, NY 11952 631-298-2175, to assess our property trees for any risk
reduction recommendations. He is a board certified master arborist.
Today, Jonathan M. Shipman, came to our property and recommended trimming
a tree that is near the water to reduce risk. He will not be removing the tree. He
advised us to contact the Trustees and provide a picture of the tree he is
recommending trimming. Please see the attached pictures of this tree.
