Dear Mr. Landherr:
With regard to your letter dated July 16, 2023, along with photographs requesting
to remove a mimosa tree in the middle of evergreens located in your yard which
abuts the wetlands, and which tree was seen by Trustee Elizabeth Peeples on
August 14, 2023, the Board of Trustees determined that the tree may be carefully
removed taking care not to disrupt the native wetland vegetation in the immediate
vicinity, with the stump to remain being cut/grinded down so as not to disturb root
structure and prevent erosion.
Any other activity within 100' of the wetland boundary requires a permit from this
office.
This is not a determination from any other agency.

As discussed over the telephone please view 3 photos of what I think is a mimosa tree in the middle of the
evergreens. The tree has died and I want to remove it. The tree is within 100 feet of the water on Jockey
Creek. Please provide clearance to remove the tree. My address is 245 Lighthouse Lane in Southold.
