4. Transportation Funding Needs: Bike racks, sidewalks, letters to SDOT and County requesting study to raise

7. County traffic task force. Town Board letter to County to support continuation of the Taskforce to:
1. Improve train connections such as the South Fork's on demand shuttle.
2. Encourage a collaboration between the LIRR and local chambers, BIDs and tourist offices to promote
train travel to the East End. This would be supported with a better schedule.
3. Explore education tools and resources for cyclists and scooter safety. Explore more reflective striping
for shoulders. The value of bringing all entities together who deal with transportation was invaluable.
For some reason I did not catch if Michele and Lauren were working on this letter too?
8. Follow up on NYSDOT markings: Resolution passed to ask the Town Board to request that State DOT add a
new stop sign with markings for westbound #25 traffic approaching Love Lane and continuing on Old Sound; to
add Sharrows east in Southold to Town Harbor Lane and to East Marion also. Sarah also communicating about
support for Main Bayview markings. Supervisor's staff was preparing the letter?
9. Town Board ad in the Suffolk Times explaining Sharrows. Bravo Sarah!
10.Resolution passed to request the Town Board send a letter to the County requesting a walkway from San
Simeon to Moore's Lane encompassing the new 50 units at Vineyard View and ELI Kampgrounds. Should
there be a follow up?
11.June motion to ask Town Board to write to the DEC in Albany to request more enforcement copying state
legislators. Recreational fishing has gotten out of control. Federally listed shorebirds have been endangered.
Having only one enforcement agent for Fishers Island, Shelter Island, Southold and part of Riverhead is not
enough. Sarah?
