Michael Collins, Town Engineer. 1. Minutes 2. Rational speed limits: Should there be many different changes to be noticed and have hearings on or should the entire town except#25 and #48 have 30 MPH? Please review the Color coded map Dan emailed. Note that between 48 and 25,Alvah's and Bridge are 30 MPH while Depot Ln, Cox, Elijah's and Aldrich are 40MPH.Also note the couple of 35 MPH and the random nature of the communities that have 35MPH while most are 30MPH. 3. Soundview Motel: The County gave the owners the specifications for street lighting so they can submit a plan to light the dark crosswalks. Update? 4. Charging Stations. Next steps on electric vehicle fire safety: Chris will email Randy an E2 exec who might give us technical information. Good to find someone who can speak to battery safety also. Regarding stations: Sarah mentioned a Downtown Revitalization grant, https: www.suffolkcountyyaov/Departments/Economic-Develop ment-and-Plannina/Transit-Oriented- and-Downtown-Development/Downtown-Revitalization the deadline is mid-May. Sarah suggested coming up with a town-wide plan for where they could be located so we can be ready to apply for grants and that we should bring in Tim Abrams and Michael Collins when locations have been picked. There are 2 open grants in Southold: Silversmith Corner Park to Improve Lighting and Sidewalk Improvement, 2019, Applicant: North Fork Chamber of Commerce Grant Funds: $39,590, Leveraged Funds: $50,000 & Redesign and Rebuild of the Raymond Dean Municipal Parking Lot to Add 30 Additional Parking Spaces, 2018, Applicant: Mattituck-Laurel Civic Association, Partner Southold, Grant Funds: $56,300, Leveraged Funds: $50,000. Other grant possibilities are a walkway from Vineyard View and bike racks, 5. Trash issue– Follow up on January's ideas for Public Service Announcements Suffolk Times (Sarah),Where are we for Earth Day on Saturday? 6. Transportation Funding Needs—Margaret? 7. Parking signs for Peconic Bay Blvd in front of Vets Memorial. Also, signs for Breakwater Parking request by Chris S. Chris will meet with Dan for Vets Memorial and Sarah will ask attorney about any existing regulations at Breakwater. Chris not expected to attend. 8. Oysterponds School wants a crosswalk on Youngs where a new driveway entry has opened up. Dan's opinion on signage? 9. Wickham and Pike's diagonal crosswalk—Dan signs? 10. County traffic task force consultant preparing Fall counts and will hold a meeting in May. 11. #25 & Oaklawn safety improvement to be awarded 2026. 12. Community Housing Plan - Should the group make a comment to call attention to Smart Growth principals as the legislation requires? This would locate new housing near transit stops in walkable areas. 13. Bike Sharrows on #25: We are still waiting for State DOT to join us at a meeting and discuss their thoughts on signs. 14.
