Master Plan Goals & Funding Needs: 3: Increase Pedestrian, Cyclist, and Traffic Safety -3.1 Explore Traffic Calming Measures for Each Hamlet: Engineering design for two locations. Include NYSDOT permits and implementation for safety changes using markings, flexible delineators and signage at Love Lane/#25 and another. $100,000 3.3 Address Gaps to Safe Walking - Ensure a radius of one mile around each bus and train stop is safe for walking. $500,000 a year or $2.5 million for five years Add a walkway on the south side of #48 near Vineyard View to the asphalt path not the west side of Moores Lane $150,000 3.4 Promote non-motorized travel as a traffic congestion reduction strategy. Education in Junior and Senior High on walking and bicycling safety w/Police Dept. $100,000 4. Expand Bicycle Network - Design and Build bike lanes on Main Bayview. Identify public right-of-way perhaps design road expansion. $200K design first year, $1 million to build Install bike racks at key public locations $12,000 a year or $36,000 for three years TOTAL ANNUAL: $1,062,000
